Thai Tae Restaurant Kuchai Lama Review

Thai Tae is a Thai restaurant opened in Kuchai Lama a few months ago. The owners are a local with his Thai wife. They started off with their home kitchen and selling Thai food to their Thai friends. When business starts picking up, they decided to move to a proper restaurant at Kuchai Lama.

The restaurant is located on the first floor and the decoration of the restaurant is simple. Let’s take a look at the menu.

They offer authentic food like noodles and rice. Do ask for any specials off the menu as if you want something different. The food here can be very spicy so do let them know your expectations.

We ordered Thai Style Tom Yum Noodles, Stewed Pork Knuckles, Fried Rice (off menu) and grilled sausages for the kids.

We had Tom Yum noodles in other popular Thai restaurant recently and it was disappointing and that is the reason why we ordered their version of Thai Style Tom Yum Noodles.

You can choose the noodles for the Tom Yum and we chose the ‘mama noodles’.  If you look at the amount of ingredients given for the noodles, you will know it is value for money. It comes with prawns, minced meat, squid and egg. For the taste, we enjoyed the strong sour and spicy taste and we loved this. This is worth the visit and this is really good.

The Stewed Pork Knuckles is another popular Thai dish we ordered. The stewed pork knuckles is soft and it is tasty. Reminds us a lot of the stewed pork knuckles in Thailand.

The fried rice we ordered is off menu for our boys, simple fried rice with eggs and prawns.

The Grilled Sausages are side dish we ordered for our boys.

Overall, the food here is good. The popular food here is their noodles and the duck noodles is something we might order next time.  Thai Tae Restaurant offers simple Thai food and they are tummy warming. Most of their customers are Thai and they are the regular customers. If you like Tom Yum noodles, do visit Thai Tae restaurant in Kuchai Lama. They are closed on Wednesdays and open from 11.30 am to 9.30pm.
