Bangkok Chinatown T&K Seafood

There are two popular seafood restaurants in Bangkok Chinatown. The seafood restaurant with the ‘red’ signage and the ‘green’ signage. The Red Signage restaurant is called Lek & Rut Restaurant while the Green Signage restaurant is called T&K Seafood. We visited T&K Seafood and they are located off the main road of Chinatown, the Yaowarat Road.

The T&K Seafood signage comes with the ‘Old Shop Original Seafood’ Yaowarat. When it is packed, you need to take number for table seating but it is less customers this week. Most of the Chinese travellers are missing in all the major attractions in Bangkok including Chinatown. Only locals and the Westerner travellers are in Chinatown this week.

Let’s check out what we ordered at Bangkok Chinatown T&K Seafood.

There are a few restaurants in Bangkok specialising this dish. T&K Seafood version is fried rice cooked with egg and crab meat and complement with red chilli with fish sauce. The lime adds the acidic flavour to the rice while the taste is fragrant with egg and crab meat. This is simple and good food.

Goong Ob Woonsen or prawn in glass noodles is another popular local Thai dish. The glass noodles come with the huge river prawn and the noodles are well cooked with flavour while the prawn is fresh. There is other version with the crab’s claw.

This is one of our favourite Thai dishes in Thailand. The taste is not spicy and immense with the curry flavour with the fresh crab meat. This complements well with the rice and this is delicious.

We didn’t order Tom Yum Goong but Fish with lime, garlic and chili. This comes with the hot plate and the fish is fresh! On top of that the lime is strong in acidic flavour with hints of flavour from the garlic and chili. This is not spicy at all and this complements well with the rice.

For your information, visiting Bangkok Chinatown is easier now with the new MRT Blue Line Wat Mangkon Station. It is only a few minutes walk from Wat Mangkon MRT Station so it is easier and convenient to visit Bangkok Chinatown.

If you want to be more adventurous, you can stay at Grand China Hotel in Chinatown. This is probably the best hotel in Chinatown and staying here means you can explore and enjoy the amazing food in Bangkok Chinatown.
