Are you looking for new places to visit in Bangkok in 2020? We went to Bangkok four times within these couple of months to visit some of the newest places of interest to create this story. All the photos and videos are taken by us and we don’t randomly take others Instagram photos to create a virtual story to get views.
We compiled the new places to visit that we went for this story. These 8 New Places of Visit in Bangkok in 2020. There is one popular mall that most people know about it while the rest is rather new. Most of these places are interest we recommended in Bangkok opened in 2019.
We gathered some of the newest places of interest such as malls, outlets, markets for this story. There are many places of interests in Bangkok and we do not want to promote the same old places again.
We visited Bangkok four times in these few months to create this story. Our last trip to Bangkok was in mid February during the start of COVID-19.

1.Sam Yan MITR Town
The Sam Yan MITR Town opened last year and it is one of the most talked about shopping mall. The six storey shopping mall is probably the first 24/7 (24 hours) mall in Bangkok.
Sam Yan MITR Town is strategically located near Chulalongkorn University, Chamchuri Square, Wat Hua Lamphong and directly connected to Sam Yan MRT Station.
The developer invested over 300 million baht in this tunnel. The length of the tunnel is 120-metre underground connecting the Samyan MRT Station to Samyan MitrTown Shopping Mall. The tunnel turned to a popular spot for social media as locals turned the tunnel to a tourist attraction.
The Sam Yan MITR Town is very popular among the young adults as it is just next to the Chulalongkorn University and there are also many restaurants in this mall.
The Sam Yan MITR Town also offers cinemas, largest MUJI and the rooftop park. This 24/7 mall is a must visit especially the 120 metre underground tunnel.

Take the MRT train to Sam Yam MRT Station and walk to the mall via the 120m tunnel.

2.King Power MahaNakhon SkyWalk
King Power MahaNakhon SkyWalk opens in late 2018 and it is Thailand’s highest observation deck. The 314 metres observation deck at King Power MahaNakhon SkyWalk offers 360 degree panoramic views from indoor and outdoor viewing area and one of the world’s largest glass trays at the height of 310 meters from the 78th floor.
There have three sections which include 74th floor indoor viewing, 78th floor admission outdoor viewing and SkyWalk at the largest glass tray. We highly recommend everyone to take all three options at discount at https://www.kkday.com/en/product/20739?cid=8500.
Another tips if you plan to visit King Power MahaNakhon SkyWalk, visit on late afternoon so you can capture the day, the sunset and the night view of Bangkok skyline. This is the best place for 360 degree panoramic view of Bangkok city.

3.Mixt Chatuchak
Can’t visit Chatuchak during weekends? Mixt Chatuchak is a shopping mall built next to Chatuchak Market and they open daily from 10 am to 10 pm.
It is a multi storey shopping mall and the concept is they offer many small retail stores similar to Chatuchak market style but with fully air conditioned. You don’t need to break a sweat shopping here.
There is a food court at the highest level of the mall and some restaurants at the ground floor. There are many retail outlets here so you might want to shop here if you missed the weekend. In short, Mixt Chatuchak is a ‘mini’ Chatuchak market in the mall.
How to get to Mixt Chatuchak?
It is walking distance to Mo Chit BTS station or Chatuchak Part MRT station.

4.Bangsue Junction Chatuchak
Bangsue Junction is another shopping mall located near Chatuchak. There are three malls in Chatuchak and they are Mixt Chatuchak, JJ Mall and Bangsue Junction Chatuchak.
Bangsue Junction Chatuchak offers more choices for shoppers that are looking for vintage and furniture items. The vintage and the furniture shops are located on the higher floors while the lower floors offer the usual fashion retail shops. We found a few vintage toy shops in this mall too.
There is also Flea Market from Friday to Sunday on weekends and it is called the Chatuchak Playground Flea Market. The flea market is located outside of the Bangsue Junction mall and you can find many unique vintage things like collectibles, tableware, toys, magazines, frames, books and more.
If you plan to visit Chatuchak during weekends, you can check out Bangsue Junction Mall Chatuchak if you are vintage lover or flea market lover.

Take the MRT train and exit at Kampheang Phet MRT Station and the mall is next to the station.

5.Silom Walking Street
This is one of the latest attractions to do in Bangkok. The Silom Walking Street is located along Silom Road under the Sala Daeng BTS Station. The Silom Walking Street in Bangkok started in December 2019 to promote more spending and to boost tourism in the city.
The Silom Walking Street happens on every 3rd Sunday of the month from noon to 10 pm. We were lucky to be there to check out this new Silom Walking in Bangkok.
You can find dozens of food stalls in both roads of Silom Road. We find many unique local food in this Silom Walking Street and the food prices here are very reasonable.
How to get to Silom Walking Street
The Silom Walking occupies both side of the Silom Road (underneath) Sala Deang BTS Station. Hence, it is very easy to come to this walking street as it is just underneath Sala Daeng BTS Station.
6.ART Box Night Market
The success of ArtBox Bangkok is also due to the rise of social media like Instagram and Facebook at the moment. Many people wanted to share their photos and stories with ‘hipster’ places like ArtBox Bangkok.
They were the first who makes this ‘hipster’ night market concept and then the rest is history. The ArtBox Bangkok night market reopened in different areas of Bangkok from 2015 until 2019. The latest ArtBox Bangkok night market is at Sukhumvit Soi 10 (Nana) Bangkok permanently (until further notice).
We felt that the night market craze is losing its steam compare it with a couple of years ago. ArtBox Night Market Bangkok 2020 is small in size but it is vibrant with its lights, the music keep the night market alive while you still can find gems in this market.
ArtBox Night Market Bangkok 2020 is the latest night market in Bangkok that it located within the city. Most of the ‘new’ night markets you read out there probably need to travel at least 45 minutes away from the city. Like we mentioned earlier, you can walk from Nana BTS Station and Asok BTS Station and Terminal 21. ArtBox Night Market Bangkok 2020 is open from 4pm to midnight daily and enjoy everyone!

Getting to ArtBox Bangkok night market is easy, you can walk from Nana BTS Station or Asok BTS Station. The ArtBox Bangkok night market is located in between both BTS stations and opposite Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit.

7.Central Village Luxury Outlet
We visited many premium outlets in Thailand, Asia and around the world for the past couple of years. The design and architecture of Central Village Bangkok is similar to most premium outlets especially to the ones in Europe. It is ‘open-air’ concept, outdoor with fashion design shops, restaurants and rest areas.
You can find many popular brands in Central Village Bangkok such as Adidas, Superdry, Champion, Calvin Klein, Club 21, Puma, Levis, Toys ‘R Us, LEGO, Playboy, Banana Outlet, POLO Ralph Lauren, Coach, Naraya and more.
The discounts are from 35% to 70% off based on the retail outlets and promotions. Different retail outlets might offer different promotions, so you need to check one by one.
How to get to Central Village Luxury Outlet?
There are shuttle busses available from Central World, BTS Udom Suk Station and Airport Link LAT KRABANG Station (one station away from Suvarnabhumi Airport). You can also take taxi or Grab from Central Village to Suvarnabhumi Airport and it is cheaper to take the taxi with meter. We took the taxi from Central Village to Suvarnabhumi Airport and it is around 150 Baht.

8.ICONSIAM Shopping Mall
ICONSIAM is one of the largest shopping malls in Asia and it is opened in late 2018. ICONSIAM is located by the Chao Phraya River and it offers 525,000 sqm of retail floor space. We were at the ICONSIAM on their opening day and we revisited the shopping mall this year. ICONSIAM is not just huge but they also offer many unique experiences.
There are two shopping malls in the same building, the ICONSIAM and ICONLUXE (the luxury mall). The ICONSIAM is the home of the first Siam Takashimaya departmental store in Thailand. You can also find the first Apple Store in Thailand here including Dear Tummy Premium Supermarket.
The is also the 3,000 seat auditorium and exhibition hall that is called the “TRUE ICON Hall” and ICON CINECONIC Cineplex with 14 cinema halls by Major Cineplex.
One of the most interesting sections in Iconsiam is the Sooksiam, a reminiscence of Old Siam. SookSiam offers art, culture, tradition, food and way of life from 77 provinces across Thailand. Who knew that so many interesting aspects of Thailand can be found here!
SookSiam is designed and created by more than 200 local artists to offer guests the Old Siam experience. They offer over 3,000 famous local businesses from all over Thailand so it offers unique charms of each subculture. There are seven zones, each called Sook Sanae, Sook Sab, Sook Sanook, Sook Sangsan, Sook Sampan, Sook Suebsan and Sook Somwang. Old Siam “houses” can be found with traditional designs as shops and restaurants inside the mall. This is the reason why when you step into SookSiam, it really feels like you are in Old Siam.

Travelling there is also really convenient as you can choose to take the free shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier or the free shuttle minibus from Krung Thonburi to Iconsiam.
