wuff and wok food wine pairing

This is the food for the Wuff and Wok Bistro Subang Winedaddy Wine Pairing Dinner. We won’t be writing the taste of the wine as we are not expert but will mention the food.

Appetizer

wuff and wok subang saba fish
Saba Shioyaki

Saba Shioyaki (Grilled Mackerel) paired with 2018 Giesen Estate Pinot Gris, Canterbury New Zealand. The saba fish or grilled mackerel is grilled to perfection, the fish is tasty with excellent texture. Remember to pinch that lemon onto the fish for hints of the acidic flavour, what a good start of the wine pairing dinner with saba fish and the Pinot Gris from New Zealand.

Soup

Lala ala Vongole in Chinese Wine with Ginger and Herbs

Lala ala Vongole in Chinese Wine with Ginger and Herbs paired with 2016 Castello di Querceto, Vernaccia di San Gimignano Tuscany Italy. This is lala with superior soup, a bit spicy with the fragrant of the ginger and herbs and the lala is fresh and tasty. The fragrant of the Chinese wine with that hints of herbs and ginger, this is satisfying.

Starters

Chicken with Basil in a Thai-influenced Sauce

Chicken with Basil in a Thai-influenced Sauce paired with 2018 Delheim Gequrztraminer, Stellenbosch, South Africa. We love the fragrant of the basil with the spiciness of the sauce and not forgetting the bite size chicken cutlets.

wuff and wok subang duck curry
Duck Rendang

Duck Rendang paired with 2015 Morande Pinot Noir Reserva, Casablance Valley, Chile. This is one of the few times we tasted rendang with duck. The reason they use duck instead beef maybe there is diet restriction and they already offered chicken for the basil dish and lamb curry for the next dish. The duck rendang comes with rice cubes (ketupat) and the rendang sauce is spicy and thick and delicious.

wuff and wok kailan siew yuk
Kailan with Siew Yoke (Roasted Pork)

Kailan with Siew Yoke (Roasted Pork) paired with 2015 Carlos Serres Crianza, Rioja, Spain. This is simple kalian stir fried with siew yoke.

Mains

wuff and wok subang lamb curry
Lamb Curry (Chinese Style)

Lamb Curry (Chinese Style) paired with 2014 Castello di Querceto Chiantri Classico Riserva, Tuscany Italy. The lamb curry comes with tender texture with savory spicy Chinese style curry. This complements well with the Chinese bun (Mantao).

Overall, the food at Wuff and Wok Bistro Subang is good. We love this Winedaddy wine pairing session and they were very generous with their wine. We did feedback to them that there were too many dishes that is spicy, maybe due to the selection of wines too. We are looking forward for the next wine pairing dinner session at Wuff and Wok Bistro Subang.

wuff and wok food places and foods

On top of their wine pairing dinner, we also enjoyed their food from their menu. What we love about dining here is their friendly owners and staffs. They do bring their husky dogs to their pet friendly restaurant so we can take photos with them. Time to discover new places for food in Subang and check out Wuff and Wok Bistro Subang after MCO.
