We got to know the name ‘Genting SkyWorlds’ for a few days ago from a theme park website and we have been trying to get an official statement before we published the story. We found this article from NST last week stating that the Genting Outdoor Theme Park will be named ‘Genting SkyWorlds’.
The Genting Outdoor Theme Park was supposed to be the first 20th Century Fox WorldTheme Park in the world. There were lawsuits after that and both Fox and Genting settled their respective lawsuits last year in 2019. As part of the deal, Genting would given “a license to use certain Fox intellectual properties” and that non-Fox intellectual property would make up the rest of the attractions in the park.
The outdoor park would also no longer be referred to as 20th Century Fox World theme park, but instead would be named Genting SkyWorlds as mentioned last week.
The Genting SkyWorlds will have International class movie themed attractions and feature among others, movies from 20th Century Fox. The Genting SkyWorlds is expected to open in 2021 and we can’t wait to visit them as we have been following their progress since day one.
