Good news for the local tourism sector! Hotels in Langkawi received 1000 hotel bookings from domestic travellers once the interstate travel is allowed from 10 June 2020 as announced by the prime minister a few hours ago.
Persatuan Pelancongan Langkawi (LTA) Chief Executive Office (CEO), Zainudin Kadir believes this is a positive outcome for the tourism industry after months of decline due to impact the COVID-19 pandemic.
He mentioned that were 1000 bookings in one hour from 4pm to 4.45pm. This is also a record as all the hotels received 1000 bookings from local tourists who wants to visit Langkawi.
LTA targets to receive 1 million domestic travellers to Langkawi from 10 June to 31 December 2020.
There will be also new travel norm on new standard operating procedure for the usage of facilities in the hotels.
