There is a new coffee place opened just before MCO at 1 Utama Old Wing. The coffee place is called OLDMASTER and they offer the new Nanyang coffee and also traditional Chinese snack (Hiang Piah).
The owner is the second generation of Chuan Heong Coffee Mill in TaipainG and they have expanded the business and rebranded to OLDMASTER New Nanyang Coffee. Chuan Heong Coffee Mill is one fo the oldest coffee mills in Malaysia and they have been operating since 1959.
OLDMASTER New Nanyang Coffee is located on the second floor of 1 Utama Old Wing, near the Toys ‘r Us outlet.
With such a long history in coffee making, you can expect new signature coffee which is the Premium Gold Coffee which has won a lot of recognition from the coffee lovers. It is also the first coffee mill in Taiping to win the 2018 Nanyang Siang Pau 95th Anniversary Outstanding Business Award (Excellence Brand Award).
What is interesting about this place is they offer Horkasai. This is a popular drink from Taiping and in Hokkien it means Tiger Beats Lion. The drink is actually cocoa powder mix with coffee or it is also known as Mocha to many. Horkasai is popular in Taiping as it offers the positive energy against fatique to the miners in Taiping back then and the tradition continues up to today.
The Horkasai offers the aroma of the cocoa and coffee bringing the best of both worlds. If you like Mocha, you can consider ordering this Horkasai and see whether it offers the positive energy to you too.
On top of that, you can also taste their authentic Nanyang Coffee O’, Nanyang 1+1, Nanyang Milk Tea and Nanyang Coffee.
For their new drinks, they offer the Cheese Series Drinks which includes the Cheese Horkasai & Cheese Golden Coffee which is specially created in Malaysia. Don’t miss out their Premium Gold Latte which brings you with the aromatic coffee hint with the light altiness in it and they are also not too milky too.
If you are looking for a light snacks, you can order their homemade Pandan Kaya Toast Set with Half Boiled Egg. Now, you know where you have some good old drinks and toast set at 1 Utama.
If you talk about Taiping popular snack, it must be the Hiang Piah. They offer eight flavours and you can taste the variety flavours of Hiang Piah that includes the Original, Gula Melaka, Durian, Bamboo Charcoal Durian, Mango, Corn , Coffee and also the Pineapple (only in PJ outlet). You can also purchase it back too.
