The 2021 World Cup Qualifiers Date for UAE vs Malaysia will be 4 June 2021 (Friday), 12.45 am (Malaysia time) GMT +8.
Malaysia must at least draw or win to stand a chance to move to the next round. All winners will be guaranteed a place for next round and the four best runners-up across all groups will advance to the World Cup qualifying third round and Asian Cup. The remaining four runners-up will advance to the Asian Cup qualifying third round.
Malaysia lost to UAE and Vietnam during first round but beat Indonesia and Thailand. Vietnam currently leads the table with 11 points and there are still time for four teams to win the Group G.
Malaysia must at least draw and beat the other four ASEAN teams to stand a chance to move to the third round of 2021 World Cup Qualifiers.
For third round, there will be 12 teams which will have advanced from the second round will be divided into two groups of six teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches. The top two teams of each group will qualify for the World Cup, and the third-placed teams will advance to the fourth round.
For the fourth round, the two third-placed teams from the third round will play home and away over two legs. The winner will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs.
Malaysia never progressed to the third round but we believed this is a strong squad to achieve the target.
