According to Harian Metro, the owner of the restaurant, Restoran Terapung Sas Rimba actually recommended other fish such as ‘ikan merah’ or ‘ikan kerapu’ which weigh around 1kg to 1.5kg.

The price of the fish is priced at RM 16 per 100 gram as stated in menu. She also told the customers that the 7kg fish initially was not for sale as it was a ‘show fish’ for her customers.

She also denies that additional charge for credit card as claimed by the customers.

To be honest, we always ask the price of fish before we order to avoid such situation. We encountered many these situations in Malaysia and many parts of Asia. Sometimes, it is safer to ask the price first before you order as you don’t want to get shocking prices in your receipt.
