Pe Aor Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle

This is the famous Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung noodle in Bangkok. The name of the shop is Pe Aor and it has been popularised by many bloggers, youtubers and influencers from Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and many other countries.

I was warned to visit this place due to the long queue before pandemic. Since Pe Aor Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle is famous and popular, the queue can take more than an hour.

Pe Aor Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle is located at 68, 51 Phetchaburi Rd, Thung Phaya Thai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok. You can take a taxi or grab to visit this restaurant from the nearest BTS Station which is Phaya Thai station.

The kitchen is at the entrance and it is sort of live cooking show and they get used to people taking photos and videos.

I went to Pe Aor with my friends on April 2022 after Songkran festival. It was pretty empty, only one or two tables were taken. Their famous lady boss was not around but I met my famous friend, Hong Roger Wu in one of the photos on the wall.

Inside the restaurant you can find wooden tables and chairs with English menu. Everything is priced so you can order per menu.

The have many varieties of tom yum kung noodles from 60 Baht to the famous giant lobster tom yum kung noodle for 1500 Baht.

We ordered a few items, basically the tom yum broth is the same and the difference is the ingredients. Hence, just order what you like as it comes with the same tom yum broth.

We ordered the Mushroom Salted Egg Tom Yum Noodles. It comes with the egg, salted egg and generous amount of the mushroom.

We order the Pe Aor Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle and it comes with XL Lobster, mussels, eggs, squid, prawns, stubbed crabs, salmon and more.

Pe Aor Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle portion is good enough for at least three people and above. Remember, you can choose your noodles based on your preferences.

The seafood is very fresh and the tom yum broth is spicy and sour in flavour. The tom yum broth or soup is not too spicy so it is very enjoyable. Enjoyable means you can take your time finishing the huge bowl of Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle.

The big question now is Pe Aor Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle worth it or just for gimmick? To be honest, we thought the Pe Aor Giant Lobster Tom Yum Kung Noodle is pretty tasty and for the price, you probably want to order it for photo.

There are many other types of tom yum gung noodles so you don’t necessary order the big lobster version. If you have a group of friends and you want to show off for your social media, why not?
