Sydney Tall Ships Lunch Cruise Experience

This is my first time cruising on a 1850s style tall ship and trust me you won’t regret it. If money can buy experience, you should spend on this. I brought my mom for this experience and she loves it.

The ship departs from Campbell’s Cove and it set sail for an enjoyable adventure. If you want to visit Sydney’s biggest attractions at one go, you sail with Sydney Tall Ship. You will cruise past Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Opera House, Fort Denison, Garden Island, Taronga Zoo, Luna Park and Admiralty House. While we cruise around these historical and iconic landmarks, there will be commentaries so you understand the history and story of it.

During the cruise, you get free flow of tapas and finger food. It is not a buffet but more like a high tea. Thus, it makes sense as you do not want to eat heavy on the ship especially during choppy waves. The servers will go around with trays of food and it ends with beautiful desserts.

Pay a small fee for “Open Bar” and you get unlimited bubbly, wine beers and soft drinks. This is definitely worth it as you get free flow for the duration of two hours.

Before you hit on the food, you should try climbing the mast. Basically you will climb up to the high pillars and you will be able to stand into the viewing points. It is like what you watch in the movies, where the scouts will stand on high viewing points on the high pillars with ridiculously long binoculars. Well, I had the chance to do it (with a small additional fee).

Climbing the mast is a fun experience. Before you climb, please do not drink any alcohol. You will get briefing from qualified crew and they will tell you whatever you need to know to get yourself up there. It is very safe with harness and ropes and the most important thing of all, you will love it.

My mother was worried about me climbing the mast but there is nothing to worry about. I get the best view on the ship and it is so windy up there, you don’t really want to go down.
