About us – PlacesAndFoods.com:

Welcome and thank you for supporting PlacesAndFoods.com. PlacesAndFoods.com is a Family Travel and Food Blog. We (Wilson Ng & Rachel Ting) enjoy sharing our passion as we travel locally and also internationally. We also write about our experiences as parents with our two boys.

We work with tourism boards such as Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tourism Akita Japan, Macau Government Tourist Office, Tourism Victoria, Tourism Tasmania, Tourism Australia, Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Malaysia Perlis, Tourism South Australia, Destination New South Wales and Singapore Tourism Board to promote their destinations. When we work with tourism boards, our goal is to deliver results in terms of stories and reach in both in our website and on our social media. Thus, we also keep in touch with most tourism organisations for future co-operation, engagement and promotions. For the past few years, we travel to more than a dozen media trips with various tourism boards. You can easily check our verified stats at our verified stats at https://www.similarweb.com/website/placesandfoods.com and we can offer more detail stats for our sponsors, advertisers and clients.

For brands, we are the online influencer for Sony Malaysia for their RX10 Mark II camera. We also worked with Malaysia Airlines, Agoda.com, WD (Western Digital) Malaysia, AirAsia, AirAsiaX, McDonald’s Malaysia, Singapore Airlines, Samsung Malaysia, HTC Malaysia  and many more.

Engagements:

Engagements are very important in blogs and social media. In case you are wondering, why comments numbers are so low because my readers interact more on my Facebook Page. Instead of having the same group of bloggers commenting on our stories, we focus on real readers commenting on our Facebook Page with links to our story. You can see real time engagement which includes number of likes, comments and number of shares.

Features and Contributions:

We also featured  and contributed to a few magazines. Below is some of our stories in various magazines. In the past we contributed stories to Oxygen Lifestyle magazine, Gaya Travel Magazine, Santai Travel Magazine, The Travelist, Leisure Travel magazine, Malay Mail newspaper, Let’s Travel and AirAsia’s TravelThreeSixty Magazine.

Some of our travel pictures were featured in newspaper like Sin Chew Chinese Newspaper and The Sun newspaper.

  2. Hi Wilson,

My name is Kathleen and Im a PR Consultant with FacadePR. I would like to send an invitation to you for a Restaurant Launch at Desa Sri Hartamas the latest eatery to hit Kuala Lumpur. Its called SAMSARAA.

The people behind Samsaraa are our very own local funny man Harith Iskandar and FHM ” Girls Next Door Winner 2009″ Jezamine Lim.

Conceived to be particularly eclectic and attractive to everyone looking for good food. The Samsara, brings back the style and coolness of the city to the old Hartamas with an offering unavailable elsewhere in town, including a mouth-watering menu conceptualized by the local celebrities themselves.

You are invited to sample a variety of mouth-watering dishes.

Please send me your email add so that i could send you the invite.

    Thank you
    Kathleen

  3. Hi Wilson,

I have read your trip journal of Pantagonia from malay mail dated May 04. I would like to get traveling tips from you for my big trip next year calls World End Trip covered South America, Africa and Middle East. I am ‘lone ranger’ backpacker and have been backpacked to South East Asia, East Asia, Central Asia, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Mexico, Europe (except Serbia, Baltic States & Scadinavia).

I plan to bcakpack South America, Africa and Middle East, Central Asia by land in 2011. The trip gonna takes 15 months. Pantagonia is ‘must-place’ of the trip. I would like to get details of ur trip to Pantagonia.

    Appreciate of ur respond.

    Alim.

  4. I’m sure that there will be private tour companies offering Patagonia trip in Argentina but it’s going to be very expensive. Traveling on our own with 4x4WorldExplorer.com is not cheap either. We filled up the cars everyday and its more than RM 100+ per day, just on petrol. That’s exclusive some of the hotels we stayed in certain places. Towns like Bariloche and San Martin would cost a bomb in lodging. I will be spreading the Patagonia stories in details here, please do come back often as there are more to come. I update my blog almost daily and thanks for reading.

  5. Hi Wilson,
Read your article and loved the adventure. Just wondering whether you do accept people to join in your 4×4 expedition.

  28. Greetings from Hong Kong. We actually wanted to send you a social media release on who we are and Christmas deals for travelers to Hong Kong but thought we’d best say hello first as I don’t want to spam you.

We’re a digital/tech/tourism (phew) startup, Tink Labs, based in Hong Kong. We are also travel bloggers or just locals/expats who love to travel. Our first product is handy (handyhongkong.com) It’s a complete digital city guide on a smart phone that you rent by the day.

It has loads of ‘best of’ lists, reviews, suggestions for shopping, dining, drinking and what to see. It’s city guide you can rent, that’s never out of date, that comes with unlimited international/local calls + 3G internet. It has itinerary’s (based on themes or routes) for people who just want to be taken around. It’s great for tourists and business travelers who dont have much time.

The ‘unlimited aspect’ means if you’re a blogger, no more hunting for wifi. You can video call your mum and share the view from Victoria Peak. Or upload pictures of you trying to eat chicken feet in real time (or whatever floats your boat)! It’s also like a concierge – book hotels, restaurants, buy discount deals all through the phone to save you time.

We’re expanding in Asia and we’re really proud of how far our little company has come since just April this year. Could we possibly send you our release? It would be great actually if we could get some banner ad pricing from you, or any kind of pricing whatsoever, if that’s possible?

    Regards,

  29. Hello,

I am italian and I like travelling and foods and I am planning to write a blog about places and food in Asia in my native language.

May you give me your support, some suggestions and can I translate to Italian some of your writing?

    Thank you.

  30. I have discovered and would like to share GOOD FOOD -the famous Kota Bharu, Kelantan Beef Noodles (Lim Siong Kee – about 36 years history) has travelled to PUCHONG (I have waited for more than 30 years for its arrival). I had travelled all over Malaysia and this is the best Beef Noodles – (‘Ngau Lam Meen’) I have tasted in Malaysia – I will give 101%.
Open daily from morning to lunch & closed on Sundays. I have taken it many times and I love it (no need to go back to KBharu). Usually that is the first food I go for when I go back to Kelantan and I will “Ta Pao” back to KL. You should go and try it.
Located at Restoran KH20 – 67, Jalan Kenari 20, Bdr. Puchong Jaya (opposite IOI Mall).
