Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Guinness at Sid’s Pub, Plaza Damansara

There is no better place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than the top Guinness draught seller in the country, the Sid’s Pub. Recently, I went to their latest outlet in Plaza Damansara with my friends.

The dinner started off with Blue Cheese Mushroom (RM14, USD4.70). The taste of the blue cheese is not as strong as I thought and it is very creamy. Dipped with the toast, this starter can be quite addictive.

Next is the salad dish. It’s called the Tuna Nicoise (RM 14, USD4.70). If you fancy something different in your salad, you can try this out.

Well, I’m a huge burger fan as many of my friends know. If you are in Sid, you must try their signature Sid’s Pubs Ben Nevis Burger (RM28, USD8.70). Just for your info, Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in UK and the British Isles so you can expect a tall burger for this. Double layer pork burger packed with egg, bacon and cheese and served with fries. In addition, Sid’s pub has this house rule. If you can finish 3 of this Ben Nevis Burger at one go, you will get free flow for the night via Frank. Remember to contact Frank for the challenge, you might get lucky.

For bacons lovers, wo-hoo this is the best. It is the Pig in the Blanket (RM 16, USD 5.30). For some unknown reasons, I always refer this as Pig in the Basket. To be frank I just had this again a few days ago in Sid’s Pub Bangsar South. This bacon wrapped pork sausages are so addictive. It is best eaten with their mustard sauce.

Sid’s is also popular for their pies. We ordered the Sid’s Shepherd Pie for RM 24, USD 8. Interesting enough, the top crust is made of sliced potatoes instead of the usual mashed potatoes. It is something different and enjoyable.

Though it was dinner, we did order one of their popular Greasy Caff All Day Breakfast Platter (RM28, USD9.30). The platter comes with sautéed mushroom, bacon, sausages, toasts, baked beans and fried fries. I prefer to call it the Big Breakfast! It is available throughout all day long at Sid’s!

You can’t complete a good meal without desserts. We ordered the chocolate Fudge Brownie (RM12, USD4). The wicked chocolate fudge brownie topped with vanilla ice cream is sinfully delicious.

We didn’t stop there. We completed our dinner with Bread and Butter Pudding (RM10, USD3.30).
