InterContinental Hua Hin Resort Luxury Stay

When there is an Intercontinental Hotel or Resort around, it means there is a luxury accommodation available. Part of the IHG (Intercontinental Holiday Inn Group), Intercontinental Hotel is always branded as the high end market within the group. Not only the hotels are five star but they are also build to impress.

During my recent trip to Hua Hin, I stayed two nights at InterContinental Hua Hin Resort. It is located on the main road of Petchkasem Road. If you travelled from Cha Am to Hua Hin, you will definitely not miss the hotel and it is located by the beach facing the beautiful South China Sea.

The resort opened since December 2009 and offers 119 rooms. Thus, it offers a contemporary interpretation of classic Hua Hin style. Architecture by C Space drew inspiration from the Maruekhathaiyawan Palace with its expansive verandahs and intricate wooden latticework.  Interior designer firm PIA echoed these motifs, while lighting design was developed by Lifestyle. Swimming pool and landscape designer Bert Collins created the resort’s centerpiece, a 55-square metre infinity-edge pool, complete with a fibre-optic system to create a twinkling starlight effect at night.

The resort has attracted a huge number of local and international celebrities since. There is a wall of fame where you can check out pictures of sportsman, celebrities and singers stayed in the resort. You will get the same treatment regardless of your status.

I got a pool view room and it was huge. As I enter the room, I walked into the bathroom area first before the bedroom. Thus, the bed is facing the balcony with a beautiful pool view.

Well, you get a King size bed, TV with satellite channels, sound system, fridge, safety box and working desk. Like many luxury hotels, you get a “welcome note” with fruits platter. It is a small but important gesture for hotel guests making sure every guest is welcomed and important.

The bathroom comes with a huge stand-alone Jacuzzi, a standing shower area and the toilet. You can open and close the bathroom with the beautiful wooden panels. The bathroom area is huge and you will not have to fight for space with your friend or partner.

They offer L’occitane for their bathroom amenities which show their commitment to deliver the best for their guests. Well, I realized they replenish the amenities twice a day and those L’occitane is never cheap!

If you want a romantic dinner, try their restaurant by the seaside, Azure. Just imagine by the seaside, under the bright stars and having grilled tiger prawns like this. This is the dream romantic dinner by the seaside you ever dream off!

You can’t find any fault staying in this resort. Everything seems to be perfect especially their hearty breakfast. If you need a resort to spend some quality times, this is the perfect resort for you. Remember to book early especially during peak season as their occupancy rate is quite high.
