Chili’s Malaysia The Smart Menu Review
When it comes to Tex-Mex restaurants in Malaysia, there are only are handful restaurants available. One of the most prominent restaurants we always visit is Chili’s. They are a Tex-Mex (Texas – Mexican) restaurant and they serve South Western inspired and classic American flavours with hint of Mexican. You can easily tell from just a glance of their menu.
They have nine outlets in Malaysia and their outlets in Klang Valley are in Mid Valley, Bangsar Shopping Centre, KLCC, 1 Utama, Jaya Shopping Centre, Paradigm Mall, Empire Subang and Citta Mall.
Currently they are offering The Smart Menu from 3rd April to 26th May 2017 and they have five new dishes to choose from.
For Appetizer, they offer Texas Cheese Poppers.
The Texas Cheese Poppers comes in four poppers. They are breaded cheese ‘balls’ with Monterey Jack, cheddar cheese, cilantro and served with Chipotle-Ranchsauce for dipping. The breaded crust is crispy while the cheese filling is intense in cheese flavour. It didn’t give you the elastic texture because this is not mozzarella cheese but if you are a cheese lover, you will love this. The cheddar cheese filling is quite strong in flavour and it complements well with their Chipotle-Ranchsauce. The good news is this will be remained in the usual menu after the promotion ends.
For the mains, they have four new dishes to choose from.
The classic Chili’s signature now comes with a unique twist. The juicy chicken breast now complements with the green chile sauce and mashed potatoes and topped with warm country gravy with beef bacon bits, slaw and side of roasted corn.
This is a little twist than it usual signature fried chicken with the green chile sauce and the sides. This comes with two pieces of signature fried chickens and this is good for sharing. We enjoyed the mash and the warm country gravy.
If you want to have a healthy dish, well you should order their Chicken and Biscuit Bowl. It comes with generous pieces of shredded smoked chicken on mash potatoes and topped with warm country gravy and fresh cilantro and served with roasted corn, broccoli and homemade biscuit with Honey-Chipotle butter.
If you love smoked breast chicken, you should order this. The chicken goes well with the gravy and also the mash potatoes and the flaky homemade biscuit is the bonus.
This is their new version of cheeseburger comes with fresh guacamole, mixed cheese blend, roasted jalapeno and picked red onions and it comes with side like homestyle fries and house-made garlic dill pickles.
If you want something different with their cheeseburger, you might want to try this if you like guacamole and roasted jalapeno. Some might find the taste of roasted jalapeno exquisite as it is not common in Malaysia.
Lastly, we have two crisp puffy tacos and each comes with combination of grilled chicken, a slice of avocado, slaw, pickled red onions, crumbled feta cheese, cilantro aioli and Santa Fe sauce. Thusm it is served with rice and black beans with housemade pico de gallo.
Out of all the new dishes, we prefer this the most. The tacos are fried to crispiness and the combination of flavours for this is really good. The grilled chicken is juicy and we also love the hints of the taste of the crumbled feta cheese. This is a must order if you love tacos.
The Smart Menu is from 3rd April to 26th May 2017. The five new dishes from The Smart Menu is something you can consider if you dine at any one of the Chili’s restaurants in Malaysia.
