We went to four different food places in Kota Kinabalu in one day. These are four popular food places in Kota Kinabalu and we also tried the new drinks created with Anchor Food Professionals. We all know Kota Kinabalu is popular with its seafood cuisine so this time, we are going to recommend something different.

A short introduction to Anchor Food Professionals for starters. They launched six newly launched dairy beverages to boost your mood and hence they are called Moodmojee drinks. These beverages were conceptualized and created by Anchor Food Professionals chefs to brings unexpected pairings aimed to delight taste buds. This year’s range promises pairings of zesty, sweet, savoury and salty flavours with creamy and smooth textures.

The first stop, we went to Lucky Bean. Lucky Bean is a popular dessert restaurant in Lintas Square, Kota Kinabalu. They have three outlets in Kota Kinabalu and still growing.

1.Lucky Bean at Lintas Square

Lucky Bean is popular with desserts such as Hong Kong style pancake waffles (kai tan chai), fries, sandwiches and drinks. At Lucky Bean, they offer a new drink called Tangy Brew.

Tangy Brew is a rich cold brew coffee and topped with layer of whipped cream and cream cheese foam. This is created with Anchor Dairy products such as Anchor Cream Cheese, Anchor Full Cream Milk and Anchor Whipping Cream. You can get the thick cold brew coffee taste with the creamy whipped cream and hints of saltiness from the cream cheese. This is something new you can taste and discover at Lucky Bean.

On top of that, don’t forget to order their Hong Kong style waffles and fries. It complements well with Tangy Brew.

2.Delight Go Imago Shopping Mall Kota Kinabalu

Second stop is Delight Go, a bakery located inside Imago Shopping Mall. Delight Go offers cakes, pastries and drinks. What we love about their food is their durian products. They offer durian puffs, durian cakes and more.

Delight Go also offer two drinks in collaborations with Anchor Food Professionals. They are Lemon Mint Meringue and Kayanika Fusion.

Let’s start with Lemon Mint Meringue. This is a rich lemon mint vanilla ice blended and topped with freshly whipped and torched meringue with slices of candied lemon and orange. For vanilla lovers, you will love this. This is vanilla ice blended with citrus after taste thanks to the orange and also the crunchy texture of the candied lemon. We love the combination of vanilla and the lemon and orange. They used Anchor Whipping Cream for this drink.

Kayanika Fusion is a ‘very Malaysian’ drink. This is a milky drink layered with traditional ‘kaya’, ‘gula melaka’, ‘pulut’ and red beans. This feels like a very sweet drink but it is not. We love the milky texture of this drink as well as the pulut and red beans. This is very enjoyable.

On top of the two drinks, we also tasted Delight Go popular durian cakes and durian puffs. If you are a durian lover, you should try Delight Go’s durian products. Delight Go is located inside Imago Shopping Centre Kota Kinabalu.

3.The Chubs Grill Plaza Shell

The Chubs Grill is located at Plaza Shell at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. They are one of the most popular Western grill restaurants in Kota Kinabalu. They offer many scrumptious Western dishes from pizza to meat dishes.

The Chubs Grill offers a new drink called Pom & Grey Twist. This is an interesting drink as this is Earl Grey tea mixed with pomegranate syrup and layered with chocolate cream. We enjoyed this very much as we love pomegranate and the chocolate cream is the bonus.

The food here is amazing. We love the pizzas and the chicken wings and buffalo wings. If we are visiting Kota Kinabalu, we will drop by again for their ribs!

Looking for a hipster café / restaurant in Kota Kinabalu? You should check out Chiu’s Café – the Modern Local Restaurant located in 88 Marketplace. This is one of the Instagrammable places you can find in Kota Kinabalu and the food here is good!

Chiu’s Café offers a new drink called Yuzu Chocolate Surprise. The name of the drink says it all, chocolate surprise with yuzu. It is a unique pairing rich chocolate and citrusy yuzu. It reminds us on a popular chocolate orange snack but this comes with salt after taste thanks to the salt lemon cooling candy. Among all the drinks we tasted, we prefer this one. You get rich and sweet chocolate, citrus flavour with the hints of saltiness after taste. We love this.

They offer good coffee and food here. You must order their signature pastas.
