There is a huge difference between Singapore’s Hokkien Noodle and Kuala Lumpur’s Hokkien Noodle. Singapore’s Hokkien Noodle is soup based and the taste comes with the prawn broth while Kuala Lumpur’s Hokkien Noodle is dry, sweet and flavourful using thick yellow noodles. We have tasted a few Kuala Lumpur style Hokkien Noodle in Singapore and the best so far is from Malaysian Food Street at Resorts World Sentosa.

As we were informed that, the chef for Malaysian Food Street at Resort World Singapore is a Malaysian. The management recruited a few Malaysian chef to cook some of the popular Malaysian street food including Kuala Lumpur style Hokkien Noodle.

Our first impression was like, how can you find tasty Kuala Lumpur style Hokkien noodle in Singapore? To be honest, we cleaned the whole plate,

The taste is really good. It is sweet and the noodles is stir-fried to perfection. There is ‘wok hei’ (wok heat), the flavours of the dark sauce and texture of the noodles are just right. If they added more crispy pork lard, that will be perfect. However, knowing Singaporean lifestyle, lesser pork lard is better according to the locals.
