It has been a while since we blogged about Chinese restaurant in Pudu Kuala Lumpur as we were busy traveling in other parts of Asia. We went to Yi Sheng Huat Seafood restaurant based on recommendation of a friend. It is located at corner lot (357,345) Jalan Gajah in Pudu KL. We were there for a family dinner.
When you see sweet and sour pork, it means there are kids on the table. Our boys love sweet and sour pork regardless how many times they have it in a week. Their version is crispy on the outer layer and the meat is tender. It complements well with rice and kids loved it.
Yam Ring with Kung Po Chicken. We enjoyed the flaky crispy yam ring and the stir fried kung po chicken with cashew nuts. The chicken is tasty with hints of spiciness after taste.
Mini Wok with Cuttlefish and Prawns. This combination of vegetables and seafood is tasty and complements well with the rice.
Dong Por Pork. Their version is good but we tasted better ones. The texture of the pork is not soft enough to our liking but the sauce is tasty. We love fatty pork for dong po pork and the texture must be soft. If you are craving for dong por pork, you can try this version.
Steamed Patin Fish. This is steamed to perfection, the fish is not overcooked and the texture of the fish is spot on. The fish is fresh and this complements well with rice.
Lastly, we ordered the Signature Deep Fried Brinjal. This is pretty good as brinjal is cut to rectangular sizes and deep fried to perfection. The end product is crispy deep fried brinjal that is very addictive.
The restaurant is air conditioned and the service is pretty good. The price is reasonable (Pudu pricing) which is at least 20-30% cheaper than PJ pricing. Overall the food is good and you can consider checking out their food if you are in Pudu.
