This is one of the pioneer steakhouses in town. Their first Castell restaurant is opened in Bukit Bintang in the 1970s and the second restaurant opened in Petaling Jaya in he 1980s. They reopened its doors three years ago after changes in restaurant’s management. It I renamed a Castell Gastrobar as we understand as they offer a bar on the first floor while dining experience at Ground Floor.

This is my first time visiting the restaurant, Rachel visited the restaurant many years ago. It is one of those impromptu decision to visit Castell Gastrobar and hence I didn’t bring any lights for photography. If you follow our blog, most of our food reviews are not sponsored posts.

The restaurant is dark, dim lighting but the ambiance is cozy and comfortable. The service of the staffs here are good, well trained and polite. We manage to get a table, get seated and they recommend us some of the signature dishes.

We ordered a few steaks and cabonara with beef bacons. To be honest, the pictures are not doing any justice to the taste and the presentation of the food.

Our boys enjoyed the cabonara especially with the generous amount of the cheese. They are using beef bacon and not pork bacon but the pasta overall is tasty.

The steaks here are marvellous, cooked to perfection and the taste is good. This is one of the best steakhouses out there in Klang Valley. The prices of the steak here is reasonable (for the quality of the meat and taste) and you won’t regret coming here. They offer premium beef and with our low exchange rates, the prices are higher than before.

The ambiance of the restaurant might not be fancy or luxury but you get good food and services in return. Remember, Castell Gastrobar is popular with their steaks so stick with their steaks. We will definitely coming back to Castell Gastrobar again for more awesome steaks.
