Kampachi Pavilion KL is one of the popular Japanese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur. They are located on the sixth floor of Pavilion KL shopping mall and they have the reputation of serving one of the best premium Japanese cuisine in the city. They open daily from 11 am to 10 pm.

We visited Kampachi Japanese Restaurant a few times and on our recent visit, we ordered some of their set menus and their sashimi.

You get the warmth welcome whenever you visit Kampachi. They always greet you at the front door and they will usher you to the seat. Most of the people here are friendly and attentive.

We started our dinner with our friends with Sashimi Assorted Fish. It comes with 3 pieces of yellow tail, tuna, butter fish and salmon.

The thing about having premium sashimi it’s the cut and the size of the sashimi, the freshness and texture and the taste.

This is the reason why we don’t usually order sashimi in some Japanese restaurants as the fish might not be fresh and they do not know how to handle the fish. Same reason why you don’t enjoy sashimi as the sashimi is not fresh and they serve it warm.

If you look closely to the wasabi, this is real wasabi. They grated from the wasabi roots and not the fake wasabi powder. There is difference when it comes to taste and the health benefits of the real wasabi.

We also ordered the beef teriyaki set. Do notice that the portion of the beef is huge and it comes with miso soup, green, rice and fruits. We enjoyed the beef, love the crispy texture of the fried garlic and the miso soup.

Lastly, we also ordered their bento. It comes with soba, assorted tempura, cod fish, egg, green, miso soup and fruits. This is something you can order as you get almost everything in the bento.

Overall, we enjoyed the food at Kampachi Pavilion KL but the food prices here are bit steep. Taking account of having such a huge space in Pavilion KL will require huge rental cost as well as operating cost. On top of that with fresh and quality food, it makes sense that food prices at Kampachi Pavilion KL is high. What you pay is what you get. We don’t mind coming back again in the future as the food is good.
