Code Black Coffee House MKH Boulevard Kajang

Unlike other parts of Klang Valley, there are limited cafes in Kajang with good reviews. Last month, we visited Code Black Coffee House at MKH Boulevard Kajang and we went back a few more times as we enjoyed the food there.

We passed by Code Black Coffee House at MKH Boulevard Kajang many times and didn’t notice the restaurant as it is located at the corner back of the building. The Paparich restaurant opposite of the MKH Boulevard was a popular place and it was closed down recently. Code Black Coffee House at MKH Boulevard Kajang opened two years ago and they are still going strong.

The first time we visited Code Black Coffee House at MKH Boulevard Kajang was around 11 am and it was packed shortly they opened their doors. The interior is mostly black in colour while there are limited tables due to the COVID 19 social distancing SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).

They are popular with their coffee, pasta, ‘Western food’ and nasi lemak. Hence, they also offer cakes and muffins.

This is their signature nasi lemak with chicken rending and it is priced at RM 19. The reason we remember the price of this nasi lemak as it is quite pricey. However, it is worth the price when you take the first bite of the nasi lemak.

The rice is fragrant with the coconut taste and it comes with fried peanuts, fried anchovies, boiled egg, sliced cucumber, sambal sauce and pappadom. Their version of chicken rendang is strong in flavour and it comes with pulled chicken meat.

Looking at the photo, you know this will not be disappointing. The rice is fragrant and well cooked, the anchovies are crunchy, the chicken rendang is spicy and yet it is so flavourful and this is worth the price.

For small eater, this portion is good for two people. This nasi lemak is so satisfying in our opinion and we will come for more for sure!

Salted Egg Pasta with Duck

We always ordered this as our boys loved this Salted Egg Pasta with Duck. The pasta comes with the creamy salted egg sauce with slices of the smoked duck breast.

The creamy flavours is very addictive and that is the reason why our boys loved this pasta so much and they wanted us to bring them to this café every weekend. Kids nowadays are so demanding.

We believe the cakes are consigned from a bakery. The quality of cakes are consistent as we ordered the chocolate cake and the cheese cake.

We enjoyed their coffee especially Café Latte. We are not expert in coffee but this is good enough.

You can probably spot us from time to time at Code Black Coffee House at MKH Boulevard Kajang. The restaurant is usually packed during lunch hours and overall the food is good and worth the visit if you are in Kajang. We enjoyed the food and our boys loved their pasta so we will definitely visit this café again. This is also probably the most popular cafe in Kajang due to its crowd.
