There are many Penang Tau Sar Piah or Tau Sar Pneah or Tambun biscuits in the market. To be honest, we bought Soon Seng Heang Bakery Penang Tau Sar Piah as they are selling like hot cakes on Shopee at: https://bit.ly/3iBuLL2 and this is not a sponsored review but a food product sharing review.
The Soon Seng Heang Bakery Penang Tau Sar Piah is the small size box that comes with 16 pieces of Tambun biscuits. It is priced at RM 7.48 and we also bought some of their other local pastries such as the bigger size traditional tau sar piah as well as tau sai piah mix with chicken floss.
Like we mentioned earlier, there are over a dozen Tambun biscuit bakeries in Penang. From what we read, Soon Seng Heang Bakery started in 1999 at Tambun Penang. They arespecialist in making the traditional Tambun Biscuit, Tau Sar Piah and various traditional chinese pastry for more than 2 decades..
Soon Seng Heang Bakery Penang Tau Sar Piah comes in a box of 16 pieces and you can also get the 20 pieces or 32 pieces. We bought from Shopee and the biscuits are well packed and it is not damaged or crushed.
The tau sar piah is wrapped in plastic and four in one packet so it is four packets of 16 pieces. Each tau sar piah is bite size and comes with generous amount of grounded mung beans. Their Penang tau sar piah is pork free with 100% vegetable oils.
The taste Soon Seng Heang Bakery Penang Tau Sar Piah is pretty decent. The tau sar filling is savoury with hints of fried onion taste and it is not too sweet too.
Everyone’s expectation of Penang tau sar piah is different and hence we think this Soon Seng Heang Bakery Penang Tau Sar Piah flavour is quite decent and enjoyable with a cup of coffee.
