After missing out Penang for the past couple of years, we visited Penang again during this Hari Raya holidays. This time, our parents did research for the food and we visited the famous Kim Leng Loh Mee at Restoran Joo Huat at Perak Road Penang
This is a popular Loh Mee stall and we have read many rave reviews about this place. Kim Leng Loh Mee at Restoran Joo Huat at Perak Road Penang has been around for decades and they are popular with the locals.
We went to Kim Leng Loh Mee at Restoran Joo Huat at Perak Road Penang late at around 9 am and as expected there are long queue at the front of the stall.
The price of the Kim Leng Loh Mee is from RM 5 to RM 7 depending on sizes.
The wholesome bowl of loh mee comes with ingredients include chicken feet, pig skin, pig intestine, herbal egg, special home blend garlic vinegar sauce and also chili paste.
This Loh Mee come with thick starchy soup and the taste is different than the Kuala Lumpur or Ulu Yam version. The thick savoury taste is unique and new to our taste palette. The Kim Leong Loh Mee offers stronger taste and more ingredients too!
You don’t find chicken feet or pig intestines in Kuala Lumpur’s version of Loh Mee. This is why when we go to places and try new food, the taste is new doesn’t mean it is not tasty. Just that we are new to it. If this is how the local loh mee should taste like, then it should be.
