Read this as we heard that many children are getting this Influenza Virus lately. We just went for Influenza Virus Test today and two of us got the virus (daddy and small boy) while the other two test gets negative.
This is also the reason I have been missing in action for the past few days. I have been sleeping for the past 2 days with medication.
The small boy probably got it from a classmate from school and the symptom shows after 2nd day. I contracted the virus from the small boy and it was painful. It was more fatique and painful than my first COVID infection (even in quarantine center).
We are not medical experts but only sharing based on our influenza virus infection experience.
What are the symptoms?
1. Fever or feeling feverish/chills
2. Cough
3. Sore throat
4. Runny or stuffy nose.
5. Muscle or body aches.
6. Headaches
7. Fatigue (tiredness)
8. Vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults
Daddy symptoms are feverish/ chills, cough, muscle aches and fatique. I slept for almost two days non stop and having the least appetite to eat. To be honest this feels more painful than covid!
Boy symptoms are fever, cough, stuff nose and vomiting.
Mummy and big boy didn’t get the Influenza virus despite we are sleeping in the same room. Now, we start to self quarantine for 5 days as recommended by doctor.
There are Influenza medicine in the market and we are taking Oseltamivir. It takes less than one minute to do Influenza Virus check (like COVID) test and test is required after 3rd day of symptoms as mentioned as above.
We are not medical experts so please do check with your nearest clinic or doctor if you are symptoms as above or someone from your kids school contracted influenza virus. Prevention is better than cure as influenza virus is airborne.
