For Yakitori lovers, this is a hidden gem in Cheras. Lately, there is this trend of Yakitori going on in Klang Valley as the ‘omakase’ trend slowly fades away. We were recommended to visit Yakitori Haki that is located at Cheras Business Centre near Taman Yulek / Taman Cheras.

From what we understand, Yakitori Haki’s chef-founder Leong spent nearly 30 years in Japanese cuisine including in restaurants in Odawara, Japan and Wellington in New Zealand.

We were at Yakitori Haki Cheras Business Centre for dinner with friends. Parking can be challenging but there are parking bays available 100m from the restaurant.

The first impression of the restaurant is you feel you walk into a restaurant in Japan. The interior is complicated ‘mess’ with Japanese influence ambience. This feels like dining in Japan.

We ordered quite a lot of food and we won’t be explaining each and every one of them. Thus, we also ordered their house sake and also cold green tea.

The Ebi Don is for the kids and of course they loved it. My boys love prawn tempura and we usually order for them whenever we visit a Japanese restaurant.

The prawn tempura is a simple dish but to get the crispiness is not simple. Here, the texture is spot on and the kids enjoyed it.

We ordered six fresh oysters and these are large size oysters.

The Sashimi Moriawase comes with two types of salmon, prawn and white fish.

We also ordered many types of yakitori which includes chicken, scallops, shitake mushroom, pork with enoki, pork belly and more.

Nothing beats the Yakitori Bishop if you know what this is.

We also ordered the Unagi Sushi Roll for the kids.

Overall, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. The people there are friendly and we do enjoyed our dining experience there with our boys and friends. We don’t mind going back to Yakitori Haki Cheras Business Centre again.
