You probably heard about Yap Hup Kee restaurant in Pudu offering Hakka Yong Tau Fu. The shop is red in color and located at Jalan Brunei Barat and it is often packed with customers. Do you know that there is Yap Hup Kee Steamboat at Dataran C180 Cheras?

I blogged about Yap Hup Kee Pudu 15 years ago. The restaurant is still popular and busy up to today. Recently, I found out that they have a steamboat restaurant at C180 Cheras and we visited them a few times.

Yap Hup Kee Steamboat C180 Cheras is located at Jalan C180/1, together with many popular restaurants. Unlike the Pudu outlet, the Yap Hup Kee Steamboat C180 Cheras is less busy but they still offer similar food and the steamboat.

We ordered their Steamboat Set for RM 78 (not sure if they have increased the price lately). This steamboat set is for 2-3 pax and it comes with original soup, Shao Xing wine wolfberries soup, Hua Hin Tom Yam or Curry soup.

We usually ordered the original soup and ordered side orders on top of the steamboat ingredients which is quite generous in portion.

At a glance, the set comes with prawns, sausage, mussel, meat ball, taufu pok and various yong tau fu. The food here is fresh and that is the reason why we do come back from time to time.

We side ordered the fried dumpling which is crispy on the outer layer with generous amount of meat.

The one thing must order is the fried pork intestine. This is sweet and the texture is a bit crunchy. We usually order a few plate of this.

Instead of rice, we also ordered their cheong fun that comes with ‘har mai’ / dried prawns.

At the end of the day, most important that the kids enjoy the food here. We come here for steamboat as well as their famous pig intestine as well as cheong fun. Food prices are reasonable and we will come back for more. Have you been to Yap Hup Kee Steamboat C180 Cheras?
