To all the food lovers out there, this is the best news for you! New Ocean World Fine Food City, the first-of-its-kind gourmet mall wholly dedicated to culinary delights in Malaysia, has soft launched its Phase 1 of the mall which is dedicated to desserts, coffee and comfort food. The five outlets launched at this time feature signatures from Japan, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong and there will be more to come!
I was invited for the soft launch yesterday and I was amazed by the concept and design of the New Ocean World Fine Food City!
With a build up space spanning over 315,131 square feet, the iconic eight-storey building will soon offer 22 carefully selected restaurants, 1 pillarless ballroom capable of hosting up to 3,000 people, a rooftop function space overlooking Petaling Jaya, and 571 fully automated car parking bays making it Malaysia’s largest automated parking system. This is probably one of the coolest car parking bays in Malaysia!
“New Ocean World Fine Food City is an all-encompassing lifestyle food mall fully dedicated to gourmands serving the best of each culture’s culinary offering. All 22 restaurants have been handpicked carefully through close collaborations with culinary maestros, chefs and operators from around the globe, said Christin Tan, Director of Business Development at New Ocean World Fine Food City.
Through our selection process, we wanted to focus on restaurants that are not known in Malaysia, but they each carry a legacy with centuries of culinary heritage, serving authentic creations that are award-winning. The five new outlets introduced as part of the New Ocean World Fine Food City soft launch are:
- Miss Ao Dai – Offers an array of Vietnamese desserts from colourful cakes, and tasty pudding, to multicoloured smoothies and sweet soups.
- Hua Xin Dessert – Originated from Shunde in Guangdong, it offers the signature creamy double skim milk.
- Raku Matcha – A haven for Matcha and Hojicha lovers with a selection of desserts and drinks.
- The Golden Time – Bringing the bygone era of classic Hong Kong wonton noodles with an elevated twist.
- Kyomo Kohi – Japanese and Western fusion specialising in artisanal coffee, cakes, and flaky pastries.
Slated for launch this year will also feature carefully curated fine dining experiences by Aegean Blue (Greek cuisine), Somboon Thai (Thai cuisine), and Song Ngu (Vietnamese cuisine). Additionally, in the pipeline for 2024 is New Ocean World Fine Food City’s flagship restaurant, Dynastic Palace, managed by chefs flown in from Beijing to offer a specially curated and authentic Chinese cuisine experience including the quintessential roast duck. Occupying the entire fourth floor with a total floor space of 10,901 sq ft, Dynastic Palace is designed to offer an elegant upscale dining ambience and experience.
