British Airways Is Back to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok

This is good news for tourism in Malaysia,Thailand and UK! British Airways Is Back to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok are returning to British Airways’ global route network, following a four-year hiatus.

From November 10 , the UK airline will re-start flights between the Malaysian capital and London, with a daily service operating into London Heathrow. From October 29, British Airways will launch three weekly flights from Bangkok to London, with a Winter service* operating into London Gatwick. A four-class 787 Dreamliner will fly between Kuala Lumpur and Heathrow, while a 777-200 will serve the Bangkok route.

The resumption of both services demonstrates British Airways’ commitment to re-building its network to Asia. The airline continues to see demand for travel recover, flying 90% of its 2019 capacity last year, with 2023 the busiest year since the pandemic. More than 43 million customers travelled on flights to more than 200 destinations across its global network.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer said: “With leisure travel continuing to perform very well, especially in our premium cabins, we’re excited two of our most popular Asian routes are firmly back on our route map. We are on a journey to a better BA for our people and for our customers, underpinned by the largest transformation programme in our history, that will see us invest £7bn over the next two years as we revolutionise our business.”

British Airways announced the return of both routes during an event in Central London, showcasing its transformation plan. The airline is currently working hard to deliver its biggest ever investment programme, which includes more than 600+ modernisation initiatives, the launch of a new website and mobile app, and the roll out of customer benefits ranging from free onboard messaging, new short-haul seats and a new first class suite.

British Airways is committed to delivering a world class customer experience, with a focus on sustainability and operational performance, through the launch of multi-million-pound leading-edge technology.

Tickets from both cities to London are available to buy now on ba.com. From 1992, until 2020, British Airways offered a direct, non-stop service to Bangkok from London Heathrow. The airline re-launched flights to Kuala Lumpur in 2015, after stopping the service in 2000.
