For this trip to Cameron Highlands, I assigned my dad to do the research and planning. Believe it or not, my dad is an excellent travel planner as he brought his friends to Thailand by driving for two weeks. He can plan where to eat / stay / play and he is definitely better than me. During this trip, he wanted to bring us to Yow Ho Restaurant but it was closed. While deciding on the next restaurant, we were ushered in to this worst reviewed restaurant in Cameron Highlands.
This worst reviewed restaurant in Cameron Highlands are based on Google Reviews as they only scores 2.3 stars (out of 5 stars) with 296 reviews. Even the recent reviews are in the range of 1 – 2 stars!
After I realized that we were in the worst reviewed restaurant in Cameron Highlands, I wanted to ask my family to leave. However, my mom already ordered some food so we decided to stay. If you look at their menu, the food is more expensive than Kuala Lumpur!
For example, the small portion of sweet and sour pork is RM 28 for 2 pax, it is around RM 18-25 in Kuala Lumpur for similar style restaurant (not shopping mall’s restaurant). If you disagree, please comment below.
This is a steamboat restaurant but we had steamboat one day earlier so my parents decided to eat their Chinese food. Looking at the price and the portion as they mentioned, we ordered ‘carefully’.
These are the food we ordered and mostly portion small except sweet and sour pork.

Deep Fried Mushroom
Stir Fried Watercress
The owner noticed me as an influencer as I was holding an action camera. The portion becomes bigger and overall the taste of the food is pretty good. It is to the extent, the chef came out and asked us if the food is up to our expectation.
Lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork is up to expectation. Ginger pork is decent and same goes with the stir fried watercress. The deep fried mushroom is not too bad either.
I read most of the bad reviews and most of the complaints are the high food prices especially for their steamboat and second is the attitude of the workers here. Maybe the weather is cold or gloomy all the time so the staffs here feels unhappy, we are not sure.
One thing for sure, they can cook good food if they want to. The staffs here can be friendly if they want to. The food prices and portion is the issue and they are running a business, we can’t say its right or wrong. If we read the menu first, we would walk away based on first impression. The food, portion and service is different than usual because they knew I am a food influencer based on my camera. Lastly, they request for a good review if the food is good.
This is the worst reviewed restaurant in Cameron Highlands. However, things changed for us because they noticed I am a food reviewer. We paid our dinner here, not one single dish is sponsored.
Based on my family experience, I will give a Google 4/5 Review for their food and service. Do you think it is fair, please comment.
From what I know, they owned the Silverstar Hotel and the review is bad too LOL.

I think laa i think ..price a bit higher since some ingredients have to sourced elsewhere which might be a bit far.
Or, its a tourist trap food outlet.
If i were you, i’d give 3 lah..4 is considered nice of you. 3.8 ke.. Effort matters not just for 1 particular customer but also for future customers as well.
Give good review, future customers dpat bad service, then they say your review not reliable plak.
