Taman Sri Muda is so foreign to me and I never been there for the longest time I can remember. However, there is a good restaurant recommended by my good friend and they offer “glass” char siew. Apparently, the char siew (BBQ caramelized pork) is so translucent, it is similar to glass and the name of the restaurant is Restoran Spring Golden (阳光烧腊专门店).
The restaurant is near the Kesas Highway and it is located at 25, Jalan Sepadu 25/C, Taman Sri Muda. Use the google map and you will get there. It is a typical Chinese coffee shop style restaurant offering roast chicken, siew yuk (roast pork belly), roast duck and “glass” char siew.
Lunch time is packed and you have to go there early or just wait for table. I ordered the roast chicken and siew yuk priced at RM 18 per plate. You do not have to wait long for the food once you ordered. The roast chicken is good and the siew yuk is better. The meat of the siew yuk is tender and the skin is crispy, what can you ask more?
The star of the lunch is their glass char siew. Like many other popular char siew joints in Klang Valley, their version of char siew is heavily caramelized and char grilled to dark colour on the outer layer. The char siew is not translucent enough as a glass but they are sure good. This is one of the best and definitely fits to top char siew list in Klang Valley. It is very sinful but hey how often you eat char siew like this?
