St. Regis Langkawi is the newly opened six-stars luxury hotel in Langkawi Island Malaysia. The hotel is owned by Integrated Nautical Resort Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Rajawali Group and the Ministry of Finance Malaysia. The brainchild and owner of St. Regis Langkawi is Indonesian Tan Sri Peter Sodakh, Chairman of Rajawali Group who brings the St. Regis brand into Langkawi and Malaysia.

The grand opening of St. Regis Langkawi will be on 29th May 2016 and it will be officiated by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Malaysia (Royal Highness of Malaysia) Tuanku Abdul Halim and the prime minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak. It will be grand event with many VIPs are expected to attend to Malaysia’s first St. Regis Hotel. The St. Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is the 2nd St. Regis Hotel in Malaysia. 2. The ‘Rainforest meets Riviera’ Experience

The ‘Rainforest meets Riviera’ Experience is real. The moment you reach the entrance of the lobby, you will be greeted by the smiley St. Regis butlers and also the misty rainforest jungle-alike entrance.

Another highlight of St. Regis Langkawi is their paintings. There are over 500 paintings created by popular local artists showcasing the life and locations in Langkawi all over the hotel. You can find the big art pieces in the lobby area and in the restaurants and the smaller ones along the corridor and also the suites.

7. St. Regis Afternoon Tea Ritual

Created by Caroline Astor, the St. Regis Afternoon Tea Ritual is a three-tier afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones and small bites. Priced at RM 135 nett and good for two persons, it comes with two drinks with option of coffee and tea. It is unbelievably cheap and we hope they won’t increase their price after they read this. The food? Well, the portion is good for two and you can have it in any of the five restaurants. You can also upgrade the drinks to bubbly champagne for a small price. Having it at the Drawing Room is quiet and relaxing with the soft music played in background. This is one afternoon ritual that you won’t forget.

8. The Lang Mary Cocktail

Each and every single St. Regis Hotels in the world comes with its own version of Bloody Mary. In St. Regis Langkawi, it is called the Lang Mary Cocktail. Lang means ‘eagle’ in Malay. You can order Lang Mary Cocktail in any of the five restaurants in St. Regis Langkawi. How is the taste? The taste is rich and hints of spiciness and it is priced at RM 85 nett.

9. The Iridium Spa

Get yourself pampered at The Iridium Spa in St. Regis Langkawi. There are various types of services included such as massage therapies, natural botanical baths and many others.

The Iridium Spa is built to impress with cascading indoor fountain and also the eye opening diamond chandelier at the entrance.

10. The Swimming Pool

There suites that comes with private pools while some offers the view of the Andaman Sea. The swimming pool is located next to the beach and it is not just ‘another swimming pool’.

It is an infinity pool with the jacuzzi pool. The design of the pool is unique as it offers two sides of infinity pool with view of the hotel or the sea.

You can find the biggest gold durian sculpture at the pool along with a flock of eagles sculptures. There are also other beautiful sculptures near the pool that will amazed you.

Next to the swimming pool and the swimming pool, there is one magnificent gazebo that will captured your attention. The gazebo comes with beautiful blue lanterns and this is ideal for wedding ceremonies. Even not for wedding purpose, the gazebo is still a great place for photography. 12. The KayuPuti Restaurant

The reason you visit KayuPuti Restaurant is not just about their food but it is their visionary overwater dining concept. KayuPuti means ‘white wood’ in Malay and Indonesian and it translate to the colour and design of the restaurant.

KayuPuti is one of the most beautiful restaurants we visited. The restaurant comes with 60 grand teak columns with open kitchen concept. At the entrance you will be greeted by the antique French door, brought over from the Dutch Embassy in Yangon. The other antiques in the restaurant will also impressed you.

KayuPuti is designed by architect Bill Bensley and almost every corner in this restaurant is detailed to perfection. You will be blessed with the breath taking view of the Andaman Sea and this is one of the most romantic places in Malaysia to dine. Need a place for proposal? KayuPuti is definitely top of the list.

Kayuputi also offers a children’s menu featuring dishes favored by younger palates, such as tangy orange cheesecake and banana marshmallow skewers. Children under the age of 4 dine for free while children ages 4 to 12 enjoy a 50% reduced rate on regular menu prices.

13. The Best Sunset View in Langkawi

Where is the best sunset view in Langkawi? St. Regis Langkawi for sure without a doubt. Grab a drink and chilled at the over-water hammocks at the Sunset Deck in KayuPuti Restaurant and prepared for the spectacular sunset view. You can also enjoy the view at the hotel’s private beach or in your sea-view suites.

The sun sets on the southeast tip of the island and you can spot the Pulau Dayang Bunting (island) in the background. This adds more identity rather than the plain sunset on top of the sea.
