On our first trip to Siem Reap Cambodia, we stayed at Angkor Spirit Palace Hotel. We booked the hotel via AirAsiaGo.com’s Last Minute Deal Package. The package inclusive of flight, hotel room, airport transfer and holiday tours.
I have screened through dozens of hotels in Siem Reap and I wanted something unique than the rest and also within our budget. The trip was a surprise birthday trip for Rachel so I organized the whole trip without her knowledge.
The hotel is located near the city and near the market and infamous Pub Street. It takes around 10-15 min of driving to the city. When we reached the hotel, we were impressed. The Khmer inspired designed hotel looks impressive from the outside.
The hotel has two levels and limited rooms and we stayed at the ground floor.
Our room was huge and there were two large beds, one King size bed and One Queen size bed. The room was so big until you can even have a party inside. Hence, this was the price we paid for a standard room and I wonder how the deluxe room looks like.
The room comes with a TV, mini fridge, mini safe and a cupboard. Probably we were slightly disappointed by the design of the room. It was too common, unlike the impressive Khmer inspired design of the exterior.
Like the room, the bathroom was huge too. There was a standing shower with water heater. The room and the bathroom were new and clean, no complaints.
The breakfast in the hotel was good and the hotel had a large swimming pool.
Overall we were happy to stay at Angkor Spirit Palace Hotel. We felt it was worth the money we spent. Don’t worry as there was no spirit or what sort ever even though we don’t understand which it is called the Angkor “Spirit” Palace. Lastly, they offered their own tuk-tuk services for hotel guests for free and you can even arrange pick-ups from the city.
