A Delectable Dinner at Mezze Bistro, Medan Damansara, Kuala Lumpur

I haven’t been doing food review for some time. The last food review I did was a few weeks ago at Mezze Bistro. The restaurant has renovated recently and it is located at the popular Medan Damansara.

My first impression on the bistro is the well design decor. The environment is very soothing and cozy, great dating place for couples as well as for friends gathering.

The walls are painted in “striking” red which blends in very well with the furniture.

I was there with my friends from the PR company. I haven’t seen them in months.

After a brief introduction from the owner, the feast started with tapas.


The duck and chicken spring rolls. The signature spring roll is made of pulled roasted duck, chicken, feta and mushroom with spicy sambal relish. It is a delicious starter.

Next is the Jamon Croquetas. Croquetas is actually a fried “ball” containing mashed potatoes and minced meat. Mezze’s version is made of deep fried parcels of lightly breaded béchamel and ham, spicy tomato salsa.

After the starters, we proceed to the main dishes. Firstly, it is the Olio Bacon. It is cooked with beef bacon, chili, garlic and sundried tomato. This pasta is very addictive.

Mezze Bistro’s Kofta Burger

The Kofta burger is made of char-grilled lamb patty is seasoned with Mediterranean herbs and spices on Panini with rocket, roasted red pepper and tzatziki with chips.

Salmon in Mustard Sauce with Green Lentil.

The pan fried salmon is handsomely put on top on a bed of green lentil with a Dijon mustard cream sauce. The sauce is flavourful and the salmon is pan fried to perfection.

For every dinner, it is good to end it with desserts.

The Pannacotta or Italian vanilla bean custard with frangelico and hazelnut syrup. The bean custard texture is smooth. This is addictive.

For toffee lovers, it is hard to resist Mezze Bistro’s Sticky Toffee Puding. It is a moist sponge cake with a thick caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.

Lastly, we have tiramisu, the Italian pudding of coffee and liquer soaked sponge layered with mascarpone mousse and topped with dark chocolate shavings.

Overall, the dinner is good. Mezze Bistro’s food is influenced with Mediterranean style of cooking. With the company of friends, it was an enjoyable evening. I love the top notch service of the staffs there and also the cleanliness of the bistro.
