In this few years, there is a trend of Hong Kong dessert restaurants opening in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Some of them are Tong Pak Fu, Hui Lau San and Honeymoon Dessert. Some of my friends sang praises to most of these dessert specialists and to my curiosity I tried a few of them and some of them were quite impressive. Since they are originated from Hong Kong, I decided to visit at least one of these dessert specialists while traveling there. I chose Honeymoon Dessert.

It wasn’t a hard choice since I stayed in Mongkok and the nearest Honeymoon Dessert I can find is in Langham Place. Located at Level 4A in Langham Place, it didn’t surprise me when I found the place busy with customers.

I started with Mango Pomelo and Sago Sweet Soup. One thing I realized while food hunting in Hong Kong, most of the prominent and popular restaurants in Hong Kong maintain a certain level of quality in terms on their food. The mango was so sweet and it blends well with pomelo and sago. It was refreshing and enjoyable. The origin of the mango was unknown but it was so sweet and juicy.

The black sesame soup was comfort food. The hot soup was just the perfect dessert during winter and it was tasty. The soup was not that sweet and the black sesame was so yummy!

The superstar was their custard egg. These gorgeous looking eggs had their shells cut evenly and the flawless custard was so smooth. Trust me, one custard egg will not be enough!

The distinctive difference of Hong Kong’s dessert house is they have more quality ingredients and sources and a well balance taste. Hong Konger really loves their food and most of their food is still prepared by locals. It is no secret that I fell in love with Hong Kong for its food and shopping scene. How can you miss Honeymoon Dessert while you traveling Hong Kong?
