There is one trusted place for fresh and delicious lobsters in Klang Valley for years. It is no other than Lobsterman. The Lobsterman is located in In SS2, Petaling Jaya and they serve Atlantic Lobsters.

Well, I’m not paid to write this but I was there to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I have been there a couple of times, never once disappointed by the food or the price tag but often I ordered wrongly. The restaurant is still cozy even though you can tell its aging. However, the service staffs there were still outstanding.
The thing about Malaysians is they are never punctual. For that, I had to order a few appetizers before the main rather waiting in the restaurant with drinks. Thus, I ordered the Baked Cheese Escargot (1/2 dozen). Well, the escargot were fine, you can hardly go wrong with these.
First lobster dish was their signature dish, Shelter’s Garlic Lobster cooked with Hong Kong style. Lobster is chopped to pieces and deep fried to crispiness with finely chopped garlic and chilli. This style is very popular in Hong Kong but I prefer to have the lobster as a whole. Thus, the taste was good and it was slightly too dry for my liking.
Braised Lobster with Yee Mee in Chinese style. It is similar to Cantonese style yee mee and cooked with chopped lobster with spring onion and ginger sauce.
Lobster Thermidor cooked with Italian style. Fresh lobster sautéed with a white wine sauce and baked with Cheese. Now, this is really good. I love the baked cheese and the juiciness of the lobster meat.
Steamed lobster with sliced ginger. This is the best so far. You don’t need any fancy sauce to overwhelm the original sweetness of the lobster meat in my opinion. Some might love their lobster to cook with strong flavours but I love to keep it simple and nice most of the time.
In conclusion, there is no doubt Lobsterman is the place to go for fresh lobsters. As a lobster specialist, they cooked their lobsters to perfection. Thus, with reasonable pricing, Lobsterman is still remains the ideal place for great lobster experience. However, understand your taste and order the right style of cooking for your lobster.
