Sand Sculpting Exhibition in Frankston Victoria

If you are planning to travel around Melbourne and you have already visited places like Great Ocean Road, Grampians and Ballarat, you can venture to places like Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley. Thus, if you don’t want to go far, you can visit Frankston Waterfront at this time of the year for the annual sand sculpting exhibition. This year’s theme is StoryLand.
I didn’t visit this year’s sand sculpting exhibition but I did two years ago. Instead of showing what is this year’s sand sculptures, let me show 2011’s sand sculptures with the theme of Creepy Crawlies!

Sand Sculpting is an annual event in Frankston to promote art and tourism. Every summer, a number of local and International sculptors joined hands to carve world class sand sculptures in Frankston. Thus, all the sand sculptures will be demolished and rebuilt in summer. Every year’s theme is different so if you visit them every year, you get to see different sculptures built by different sculptors. All of the sand sculptures are 3D (three dimensions) and they carved from top to bottom. All of the 3D sand sculptures are moulded and carved with different type of sands.

Following are the pictures from 2011 Sand Sculpting Exhibition “Creepy Crawlies” Pictures:
