CWZJ Cuisine (The Home of Tea Kings) Review

CWZJ Cuisine (The Home of Tea Kings) is probably one of the hidden gems in Kuchai Lama. From friend’s recommendation, I went there for dinner with a group of friends a few weeks ago. The restaurant is always packed and we need to book in advance.

The restaurant is located at 8, Jalan 11/116B, Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park,Jalan Kuchai Lama and next to Bridgestone Tyre Shop. Please check the GPS coordinate below. It is two storey Chinese restaurant fully air conditioned. The place is quite small and quite cramp but the decoration is a very traditional Chinese.

Crispy Chicken

We order their signature Crispy Chicken. The chicken skin is crispy while the meat is tender and compliment with prawn crackers. This is one of the traditional Chinese menus and I love the fact that the chicken wasn’t overcooked.

Mushroom cabbage with abalones

One of my friends insists to have this so we ordered this. The dish comes with mushroom, cabbage and abalones.

Each piece of abalone cost around RM 30 per piece and the sauce is palatable and the abalone we have no complains.

Salted Duck Egg Prawns

This is probably one of the most surprising dishes of the evening. First of all, the size of the prawns is relatively small and some of them are not that fresh. Maybe it was near Chinese New Year period so getting fresh seafood was a hard task. Then, to our surprise, the taste of their salted duck egg prawns is below par. Please do not order this if you dine there.

Signature Pork Ribs

The signature pork ribs come in quite a big portion. I love the taste as well as the tenderness of the meat.

We didn’t order their popular seafood such as hairy crabs. Maybe we should follow their recommendation and what is their best food? Overall, the food is good but it didn’t surprise me that much as recommended. The service is good but serving time is slow. For the pricing, this place is not cheap like other restaurants in the area. Please book first rather than walk in.
