Rawai Seafood Fish Market

Rawai or better known as Rawai Beach is located at the South East of Phuket. It is quite far from Patong Beach which is located at the West of Phuket. Rawai might not be as popular as Patong to Malaysians but this part of the world offers more than just beautiful quiet beach and group of resorts. It is the Rawai Night Seafood Market or Rawai Fish Market.

The best time to visit the market is during the evening as you can choose your seafood and cooked it at the nearby restaurants for a fee.

So what is available in the market? You can many local fishes in the market.

Most of them are still swimming in the plastic tanks and some are presented on the crushed ice. As I thought this is a hidden gem but apparently it is not.

Many tourists knew about this place especially the Chinese (from China). There were dozens of them in the market and in all the restaurants nearby.

From my observations, the popular seafood in the market is lobster, mantis prawn, crabs, oyster, scallops, squids and fishes.

The seafood is fresh and you just need to select it on your own. The prices of the seafood are visibly showed so don’t worry of getting cheated. Everything is priced and listed and you can try your luck bargaining for a slight discount.

So you just need the find the stall you are comfortable with or you can buy from every stalls and they will pack it nicely for you. Everything is cash here.

Once you have all your seafood packed, you can cook them at the restaurants nearby. All the restaurants here have menu with prices. Everything is honest here so prices are shown so you won’t get cheated by the stalls and restaurants here.

The Rawai Seafood Fish Market is a must visit place. Come in a group so you can order seafood like lobster or crabs.
