KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) Dress Code Clarified by Malaysia Airports

Yes, I am the guy with the cute pink shorts who got barred by KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) security officers. I wrote my experience a few days ago at https://www.placesandfoods.com/2015/06/klia-dress-code-for-lost-and-found-baggage.html

The cute pink short pants I wore that day.

The story got picked up by a few online and printed media while some mentioned my name or blog while some not but it did attract the attention of Malaysia Airports and they emailed me and published this press release yesterday.

I had positive comments on my blog as well as some Facebook pages and groups while some attacked me saying I am stupid, attention seeker and such.

Well, my intention is to let people know about the dress code issue in KLIA and now with them (Malaysia Airports) clarified the issue so no one will be stopped again at the security office for dress code violations.

I am sure there are dozens of people having the same issue like me daily in KLIA but none of their voices is heard. I am sure the security officers are getting all sorts of treatments by disgruntled travellers every day.

Thus, with things get clarified due to miscommunications and confusions, everyone now can wear casual wear to collect their lost and found baggage and I am sure the security officers will have less complaints to deal with.

I appreciate the swift email by Malaysia Airports and I accept their apology. However, I felt that they should apologized to hundreds or thousands other travellers like me and hope they clear that confusion or misunderstanding with their security officers.

Moving forward, let’s hope that we will not hear the same issue again in KLIA for dress code violations.

The press release and also the email by Malaysia Airports regarding my dress code violation issue is as below:
