Kazoku-Ai Modern Teppanyaki Kitchen is one of the popular Japanese restaurants located in Jalan Klang Lama or Old Klang Road. To be precise, it is located in the 3rd Mile Square.
Kazoku-Ai Modern Teppanyaki Kitchen is not a huge restaurant so it is recommended to book your table first. The teppanyaki kitchen is at the middle of the restaurant so it occupies most of the spaces of the restaurant and that’s why there are only limited tables and seats available.
Remember to book your tables or else you will have to wait. This restaurant is quite popular and when we went there, it was full house.
A quick glance at their menu and food here is not that cheap. The imperial fried rice with tobiko with ‘seafood treasures’ buried inside cost around RM 47.70.
The imperial fried rice in a small medium size bowl is fully covered with tobiko (fish egg).
We try to look for the ‘seafood treasures’ hidden within the fried rice, nothing much there. For RM 47.70, we expect more ‘seafood treasures’.
We also ordered their Mixed Seafood Platter at RM 53. It comes with their best Hokkaido scallops, Japanese oysters, tiger king prawn and salmon. The taste of the seafood platter is okay but we felt it is slightly over priced.
Their signature dish is called the Kazoku-Ai fire crab. They claimed this is the world’s 1st and only teppanyaki crab using live crab.
They put a show by flaming with crab and the crab is priced at RM 180.20 per kg. Well, we can definitely taste the freshness of the crab since it is a live one.
The food here is above average and the food prices here are not cheap. One thing for sure, the seafood here is fresh. Anyhow, the restaurant is always packed with customers. If you plan to come here, drop them a call for booking. If you are a big fan of teppanyaki, you can visit Kazoku-Ai but remember to bring more money.
