When it comes to stay in Melaka, you will be spoilt with choices. Melaka is now a tourist hot spot and there are many tourists during weekends, public holidays and school holidays. During this period of time, the city will be filled up by tourists from other states, Singapore and other countries.
Like our recommendations in Bangkok, there is no such thing as the best hotel in Melaka. It is depending on which location you want to stay and your budget.
On our recent trip to Melaka, we stayed at The Straits Hotel And Suites. They are next to Novotel Hotel Melaka and they are located at No 1- B, Jalan Melaka Raya 2, Taman Melaka Raya.
They are not in the close proximity of Jonker Street or the main attractions of Melaka but it is just a couple of minutes of driving to there.
What we like about this hotel is they have many parking spaces. You don’t problem finding a car park if you stay at The Straits Hotel And Suites Melaka.
We stayed at Premier Suites with Bathtub. It comes with a nice living area and kitchen area and it is good if you plan to do some cooking and having a pot luck party or get together reunion. Watch the video.
The bed room comes with a Queen size bed and a working desk. It will be better if the bed comes in King size.
The bathroom comes with the bathtub, standing shower and toilet.
The swimming pool is located on their top floor and the view is spectacular. What we like about the pool it is an infinity pool and it is a covered pool. Thus, even it is rain or shine, you still can swim.
Breakfast wasn’t that bad as it comes with noodle station and also roti canai station. We have no complains on that.
Even though it is located in Melaka Raya, the evening is quiet and not as noisy as we thought. Staying in that area means there are many restaurants available around the corner.
The front desk and housekeeping staffs are friendly and efficient. The stay was alright and our suite was clean. There is a bit wear and tear like small cracks but it is okay to us.
