Where to see Dugong in Australia?
Dugong is marine mammal often known as ‘sea cow’ or ‘sea pig’. You can find them in Malaysia like in Johor, Sabah and Sarawak but their numbers are low. There are mammals and you can find them in Australia?
In the wild, there is a huge population of dugong in between Shark Bay in Western Australia and Moreton Bay in Queensland Australia. However, to get to watch them in the wild is more like a stroke of luck. Sometimes you spot them and sometimes you don’t but the chances are slim.
In Sydney, there are two dugongs at Sydney Sea Life Aquarium in Darling Harbour. For your information, there are only six dugongs on displayed in the world and you can find two in Sydney Sea Life Aquarium.
On top of that, Sydney Sea Life Aquarium is ideally located in Darling Harbour, right in the middle of Sydney. There are 14 theme zones with over 700 different species in Sydney Sea Life Aquarium. That’s why you should visit them when you visit Sydney.
This is a great place for friends, families and kids as it is hard to see dugong in our lifetime. For the entrance fees, it is priced at A$42 for adult and you pay only A$27 with Klook.com at https://www.klook.com/activity/1779-sea-life-aquarium-sydney/. That is 35% off the usual rates. For children tickets, you can get it at A$20.65 per ticket online at their official website at https://www.sydneyaquarium.com.au/tickets/single-tickets/
There are dugong feeding times and you should not miss that session. There is a reason why dugong is called sea cow and it is eye opener to see them eat. You don’t get to see dugong all the time especially the time they eat!
You can also get discounted Combination tickets with Klook if you plan to visit any or all of the following attractions:
- Wild Life Sydney Entry Ticket
- Sydney Sea Life Aquarium Entry Ticket
- Madame Tussauds Entry Ticket
- Sydney Tower Eye Entry Ticket
- Manly Sea Life Sanctuary Entry Ticket
You can check out the discounted combination tickets with Klook at https://www.klook.com/activity/2186-attractions-combination-ticket-sydney/
You can easily spend whole day by visiting any of the five attractions in Sydney. Except Manly Sea Life Sanctuary, we visited the other four attractions during our visits to Sydney. The Wild Life Sydney, Sydney Sea Life Aquarium and Madame Tussauds are located at the same spot in Darling Harbour. You can also check out Sydney Tower Eye for the breathtaking view of the city and you can also book their buffet lunch or dinner at discounted rates with Klook at https://www.klook.com/activity/2754-tower-buffet-sydney/
