Nam Heong Ipoh Employs Robot Helpers In Malaysia

This is something cool we must share. Have you heard of the Robot Restaurant in Tokyo? It is one of the coolest restaurants to visit in Japan. The good news is there are restaurants in Malaysia offering robot too. Nam Heong Ipoh, a popular local restaurant employs ten robot helpers in their restaurants.

There are eight robot helpers in their flagship restaurant in Nam Heong Ipoh SOHO Outlet and there are two robot helpers in their outlet in Nam Heong Ipoh Damen Subang outlet. We visited their Nam Heong Ipoh Damen Subang outlet to check out their new robots.

Nam Heong Ipoh restaurant originated from Ipoh with history of 60 years and more. They serve popular Ipoh delicacies and local Malaysian food such as chicken horfun, prawn noodles, curry noodles, chicken rice, roast meat and more. Their egg tart is one of the best in Malaysia. They also offer dim sum in their menu and their white coffee is a must order.

Have you seen a robot helper before? I have not seen one so I went to check it out at Nam Heong Ipoh Damen Subang Outlet. We went to the outlet early to avoid the lunch crowd. As mentioned earlier, there are two robots and they are named after popular Chinese actresses. They are 刘诗诗 (Cecilia Liu) and 章子怡 (Zhang Ziyi).

The best part being there early is there were not that many customers yet so I can snap as many pictures as possible with the robots.

This is the close up of the robot. You can actually see the robot is smiling now. There is different facial expression from the robot like how we showed in the video.

They can speak in English and Mandarin and they moved around the restaurant. It is pretty cool as they will ask for space if you accidentally block their way.

The two robots are programmed to send the food to your table. Only dry food such as egg tart and deep fried dim sum. They will talk to you once the robot reached your table, it is pretty cool and I am sure our boys will love this.

You can find many customers taking pictures with the robots as if they are the superstars. This is our first time experience with robot helpers and it is added service to the good food we had in the restaurant.

Please take note that you have to pay entrance fees in robot restaurants in Japan but it is FREE in Nam Heong Ipoh restaurant. This is added value by the restaurant for their customers.
