Malindo Air Set To Fly to Sydney and Adelaide in 2019
We just heard it on Malaysia’s BFM Radio that Malindo Air CEO Mr. Chandran Rama Muthy spoke about new flights to North Asia and two destinations to Australia. He mentioned that Malindo Air just received approval to fly to Sydney and Adelaide in the first quarter of 2019!
This is good news as Malindo Air is currently flies to three destinations in Australia which is Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. The Kuala Lumpur to Perth is a direct flight while Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane and Melbourne will have a stop in Bali. Malindo Air currently operates flights from Kuala Lumpur to Australia using 737-800s.
There is no mention whether Malindo Air will fly direct to Sydney and Adelaide or with a single stop. Thus, there is also no mention which type of aircraft or the frequency of flights to the new destinations.
This is good news for Malaysian travellers visiting Sydney and Adelaide as this will definitely create a healthy competition which means lower airfares. Currently, only Malaysia Airlines flies direct to Adelaide as AirAsia X pulled out a few years ago. AirAsia X and Malaysia Airlines are offering direct flights to Sydney.
With Malindo Air offering new flight services to Sydney and Adelaide, it will generate more tourist traffic for both countries.
South Australia is a beautiful state to visit as it is popular with fresh seafood especially in Port Lincoln. The untouched Kangaroo Island is a must visit too when you are in Adelaide.
Sydney on the other hand offers many good food and popular landmarks to visit such as the Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, Harbour Bridge and more. Since our cousin is staying in Sydney, we visited the beautiful city quite a number of times since our university days in New South Wales.
We hope to hear more from Malindo Air soon on the new routes from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney and Adelaide. Check out https://www.malindoair.com for more info.
