Hong Kong 360 Lantau Culture and Heritage Insight Tour and Ngong Ping Village

4 min read

When it comes to traveling to Hong Kong, we have seen many travellers tend to choose popular tourist attractions like Disneyland Hong Kong, shopping and dining in Kowloon or snapping photos in the middle of local flats or visiting The Peak. However, many have forgotten the charms of Lantau Island and also the Ngong Ping Village. This is the reason why we are promoting these two destinations; 360 Lantau Culture and Heritage Insight Tour and Ngong Ping Village.

Break away with the stereotyped way of traveling to Hong Kong. The 360 Lantau Culture and Heritage Insight Tour and Ngong Ping Village will show you the ‘other side of city’.

The 360 Lantau Culture and Heritage Insight Tour and Ngong Ping Village is a guided tour and it takes three and half hours.

The tour fee includes round trip cable car ticket, free tea demonstration, air-conditioned sightseeing coach transfer to Tai O Fishing Village, Tai O boat excursion, traditional stilt house visit, free tasting of Tai O local delicacies and professional guided services.[

Start the tour with the cable car trip and you have a choice of the Standard Cabin or Crystal Cabin. We took the Crystal Cabin and it comes with a see thru glass panel for the flooring. You get plenty of greenery view from this cable car and also the birds eye view of the Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. This is the cable car cabin of Asia’s longest bi-cable ropeway.

Watch free tea demonstration at Li-Nong Tea House

Upon your arrival at Ngong Ping Village, you will visit Li-Nong Tea House (shop no. 8 in Ngong Ping Village) at the designated time. Li-Nong Tea House is committed to promote the culture of Chinese tea. You can sample its original floral teas and watch tea demonstration. It is good to have a cuppa of hot tea especially you are visiting Hong Kong during the winter time.

Next, you will take a short coach ride to Tai O (island) for the fishing village! Upon arriving at the fishing village, you will step into an authentic stilt house and sample the life of the natives of the fishing village.

This is a unique experience as many of us never even been to a fishing village (in Malaysia). Time to see Hong Kong in a different perspective and walkthrough these buildings and see how space is optimised for comfort and practicability.

Boat excursion at Tai O fishing village

You probably sat on the huge ferries but to explore the Hong Kong’s oldest village TaiO, you need to hop on this adorable boat excursion.

Enjoy the charming views of stilt houses built along the banks of Tai O’s waterways and observe the General’s Rock up close. You may even see a Chinese Pink Dolphin along the way (if you are lucky!)

What to do in Tai O Fishing Village? Actually, Tai O Village is a mini “shoppers’ paradise”, especially for those interested in exotic condiments, homemade dried seafood, nostalgic toys and local dumplings and pastries. You will also enjoy the open-air shopping experience that is hardly found anywhere else in Hong Kong.

If you plan to get some souvenirs, this is the place for you to get them all.

Visit to the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery

You will be taking a coach ride back to Ngong Ping for the iconic Big Buddha! This is the world’s second largest outdoor bronze Buddha statue and Po Lin Monastery is the largest of Hong Kong’s Buddhist temple, are both “must-see” attractions of Lantau.
