Kenny’s Food Cart Aman Suria Famous Porridge

Kenny’s Food Cart has been around since 1993 when Kenny’s father used to run the stall selling porridge at Alisan Road in Petaling Jaya. A few years ago, Kenny moved to their own restaurant at Kenny’s Food Cart in Aman Suria.

Kenny continues the legacy with a new restaurant and a new business partner. After just months opening the restaurant, Ho Chak! a popular food TV program featured Kenny’s Food Cart on 8TV Malaysia. There were also many bloggers and friends gave good reviews on this restaurant.

We recently visited Kenny’s Food Cart as we were near Aman Suria. It is a coffee shop style restaurant with the stall like decorated kitchen.

We were there for lunch and we ordered the Seafood Porridge, Mushroom Minced Pork Noodles and Fried Fish Paste. They are popular with their ‘Teng Chai Porridge’ but we prefer the Seafood porridge for a change.

The Seafood Porridge comes with sliced fish, dried scallop and dried oyster. What we love about their porridge is the texture and the taste. The texture of the porridge is not too thick or too ‘waterish’, it is just right while the taste is balanced from the ingredients of fish, scallop and dried oyster. The fried crispy noodles add some crunchy texture to the porridge. The most important part of the seafood porridge is the freshness of the ingredients and that makes the porridge tastier.

It is hard to find quality porridge in Klang Valley. We always prefer this version of the porridge than the Teo Chew porridge.

If you are not a porridge lover, you can order the Mushroom Minced Pork Noodles. This dried noodles come with generous amount of minced pork, sliced mushroom and egg.

We love the texture of the noodles and the taste of this is flavourful and tasty. Each bites of the noodles with the minced pork and sliced mushroom, this is comfort food and even the kids will love this.

The crispy fried fish paste is a must order side dish at Kenny’s Food Cart. The texture is soft and complements well with porridge or noodles. The most important thing is the fish paste is fresh and tasty. Remember to dip the fried fish paste with the green chili sauce. The green chili sauce is spicy and acidic but it is really good.
