Now, this is the legendary restaurant for the beef noodles in Kuala Lumpur. If you are a foodie, you should know this place, Restoran Soong Kee’s Beef Noodle at Jalan Tun H S Lee Kuala Lumpur. The restaurant is within the old KL area and near the RHB bank.

Restoran Soong Kee opens for lunch and dinner but the beef noodle is for the lunch session only while for dinner session, they serve rice porridge via Loa Yau Kee. They offer Hainanese chicken for lunches and dinners.

This is the typical old pre-war building restaurant and they have been around for over 60 years if we are not mistaken. Thus, this is a popular beef noodles place in downtown KL and many old folks ate here before.

The small bowl of beef noodles start from RM 7 and we recommend you to get medium size. The egg noodle comes with minced stewed minced beef with the vegetable (kai lan).

You have to mix the minced beef and the noodles and you get the egg noodles coated with thin layer of minced beef. We enjoyed the texture of the noodle and also the immense taste of the stewed minced beef. The sauce is strong in flavour and you get hints of the beef flavour.

We also ordered a bowl of the beef balls and it comes with nice texture and taste of the minced beef. It complements well with the noodles.

On top of the beef noodles, you can also order the Hainanese Chicken Rice. We enjoyed the taste and the texture of the chicken, it is served with light soy sauce with spring onion and crunchy fried garlic.

If you can’t take beef, you might consider ordering the Hainanese chicken rice. The chicken is tasty with tender texture and this is delightful. On top of that, they also offer curry noodles but we didn’t order that day.

Please take note that Restoran Soong Kee Beef Noodle Jalan Tun H S Lee is packed for lunch due to the regular customer crowd from the offices and banks nearby hence you need to visit them before lunch time. We are not huge fan of the beef noodles but many people enjoy their beef noodles. However, we enjoyed the Hainanese chicken rice and also the curry noodles.
