The Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports 2020 is out and KLIA drops to the lowest ranking ever. Last year, we blogged about KLIA Ranking Drops Again in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports 2019 and they were rated 54th out of 100 Airports. This year, KLIA is ranked 63rd in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports 2020.
KLIA is ranked 63rd after 54th in 2019 and after the refurbishments and upgrade they did for Visit Malaysia Year 2020. Not forgetting the upgrades for the toilets and the immigration autogate counters but it didn’t help the Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports 2020 ranking too.

2013 – 14th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports
2014 – 20th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports
2015 – 19th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports
2016 – 24th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports
2017 – 34th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports
2018 – 44th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports
2019 – 54th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports
Even in 2010, they still manage to score 5th in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports. From 2013, the free fall ranking starts while they managed to gain 19th in 2015 but they never recovered. It is 63 in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports 2020.
Singapore’s Changi Airport on the other hand retains its 1st position in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports since 2013 for the eighth consecutive year. Singapore Airport Terminal 1 opened in 1981, T2 in 1990, T3 in 2008 and T4 in 2017. Singapore Airport Terminal 2 currently is closed for upgrading.

KLIA Ranking Drops Again in Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports 2020 but it is still in the Top 100 ranking. We really hope Malaysia Airports to look at what they can do to bring back KLIA back to the glory days.
