This is a neighbourhood restaurant that needs no introduction if you stay in this part of Cheras. Lim Kee Pan Mee Restaurant has been around for decades and they are located at the main road of Jalan Dato Haji Harun at Taman Tayton View.
They are open from breakfast and lunch crowd from 8 am to 4 pm daily except Thursdays. You can see quite a number of restaurants changed hands along this road but Lim Kee Pan Mee Restaurant still stays strong due to its quality of their food and their consistency.
They are pan mee specialty restaurant and they offer traditional soup based pan mee and dry pan mee. They don’t offer the chili pan mee though.
We ordered the pan mee with soup and dry pan mee with pan mee noodles. Usually we order the thin pan mee noodles as the kids loved it.
Their version of dry pan mee comes with thin noodles, mushroom, minced meat, fried anchovies and fried shallots. When it comes to flavour, this dry pan mee offers really strong taste and we enjoyed it.
The thin noodles are nice, springy and the combination of taste of the meat, mushroom, fried anchovies and fried shallots it is slightly salty for our liking. The kids loved this as it comes with that strong taste.
The pan mee with soup comes with thin noodles, mushroom, minced meat, fried anchovies, fried shallots and greens. Like the dry pan mee, we find the taste is slightly salty especially the soup base. However, saying that maybe that is what their regular customers love about this restaurant.
Dumpling or ‘sui kow’ that comes with generous amount of prawns and this must order to complement their pan mee.
Overall we enjoyed the pan mee at Lim Kee Pan Mee Restaurant Taman Tayton View Cheras. As mentioned, they are heavy on salt but the food there is still enjoyable. Finding parking at times can be challenging. We visited the restaurant before MCO (movement control order).
