We seldom promote viral or popular trendy restaurants as most of their food is mediocre. Instead, we visit neighbourhood restaurants like Good Taste Seafood Restaurant at Taman Connaught Cheras.

Good Taste Seafood Restaurant is located at 26, Jalan Waras 1, Taman Connaught (the shops behind the famous Restoran Sun Ming. You probably find it hard to find parking spaces during lunch hour but there will be many empty parking spaces after working hours.

The restaurant is air conditioned and they do offer FoodPanda delivery during FMCO. They serve the usual Malaysian Chinese food and we ordered Salted Egg Squids, Kong Po Mantis Shrimp, Three Flavoured King Ribs and Braised Beancurd with Seng Gua (Ridge Gourd).

This is their version of salted egg squids, crispy on the outer layer and squid was not overcooked. We ordered this for the kids, they love salted egg squid and it goes well with rice.

This is something we always order if there is mantis shrimp or mantis prawn or ‘har kou’. This is mantis shrimp cooked with kong po sauce, spicy and sweet sauce. What we like is their crispy mantis shrimp with that well flavoured kong po sauce that complements well with rice.

This is their signature dish and it is called three flavour king ribs. The tender king rib (pai kuat) comes with fragrant signature three flavour sauce which is sweet and spicy. Something different that you can’t find in other restaurant and this is a must order.

This is Braised Beancurd with Seng Gua (Ridge Gourd) or also known as seng gua tofu. If you want something simple and nice, you can order this. The tofu and the ridge gourd is soft with the tasty sauce and the kids loved this.

Good Taste Seafood Restaurant Taman Connaught Cheras offers comfort good food. Don’t over expect from a neighbourhood restaurant.
